Had these for OM cameras and my E1 and E3.

The trick is to adjust them fairly "loose". If you can comfortably reach all the buttons it is properly adjusted, but might not "look" right.

When you walk around, your hand curls naturally.

You would have to be really trying to drop a camera with these.

You might bump your camera into obstacles from time to time, as you'll easily forget there's a camera there - don't worry the camera won't fall, the Pro E-series can take quite a pounding if bumped into something.

Watch hotshoe flashes though (on any camera).

Try one, you'll never yearn for a chest-pounding neckstrap again!

Comments about Olympus AS-GS3 Grip Strap:

I considered this grip strap after surfing the web and could not find one at a reasonable price. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds a great nut. Well, that is what has happened to me. This is an excellent grip & I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a Grip Strap. It is very supportive & comfortable.

Comments about Olympus AS-GS3 Grip Strap:

Good for Program mode, then there is no need to reach any buttons, you just have to press on the trigger, I like the strap to do portrait, I can easily reach the main or sub dial on my E-5, especially on manual mode what else do I have to adjust, if everything is well set before I shoot?

Comments about Olympus AS-GS3 Grip Strap:

I like using hand grips, but because most of my photography uses a tripod and an L bracket, most hand grips won't work. I saw this strap from Olympus and hoped it would be as good as the one I bought years ago for my Olympus OM-1. It's actually better. A little more padding and longer attachment straps. Used with the Nikon D7000 and the MB-D11 battery grip, it's not too short and attaches perfectly to the grip tab on the L bracket. If I didn't already have grip straps on my other bodies, I would buy more. It may not be the same brand as my cameras, but it is exactly what I was looking for. Easily adjustable, I can even use it with gloves if needed.

Comments about Olympus AS-GS3 Grip Strap:

I decided to get the handstrap when I got rid of the over the neck strap that came with my camera. Overall, I like it. It's fairly well padded and fits quite easily on my camera. While the strap does loosen over time from your hand going in and out, I find it to be strong and I like the extra security of having it attached to my hand.

Others have mentioned that the strap limits your ability to reach all the controls, but the (obvious) fix for that is to simply loosen the strap a bit.

I don't know that anybody needs a handstrap, but if you're in the market for one I'd recommend the AS-GS3.

Comments about Olympus AS-GS3 Grip Strap:

Works well. Others have complained about it limiting access to controls; as long as it is properly tightened (meaning it is loose enough) there is no problem there. Much easier to carry a heavy camera (such as an E-3 with the higher end Zuiko lenses) with the hand strap than with a neck strap.

Don't buy this strap if you want to hold your camera AND operate the buttons on it. If you keep it tight, you can't turn your hand to push even the shutter release button. The only way this works is to keep it loose. That sort of defeats the purpose of a grip strap, right? This is the only item that I have ever had to return from B&H. I should have heeded the reviews, because I am writing the same negative things about this grip strap.

Comments about Olympus AS-GS3 Grip Strap:

The strap is well made and allows having both the grip strap and the neck strap if desired - or just the grip strap alone.

It also feels reasonbly comfortable in the padding and texture department.

The issue I have is with reaching camera controls with the grip strap on. For me, camera controls can be used only when the strap is quite loose - which kind of defies the purpose of having it in the first place.
