Sony Circular Polarizer - Light rays, which are reflected, become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast.
The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
Note! Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras. (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras without problems.)

Comments about Sony 49mm Circular Polarizing Glass Filter:
Most of the year in our area there is no rain and the sun is very bright.
In such weather conditions for photographing in nature needs a polarizing filter.
I chose the 49 mm filter for my SONY NEX-5N and very happy with the choice.
Attaching the filter to the lens I got a gorgeous blue sky and a beautiful picture of clouds.
Without the filter the same sky turned out just a bright spot!
The quality of the filter is excellent.
Thanks to the excellent service BHphotovideo received my order very quickly despite the fact that I was in the opposite side of the planet.
I am very pleased.
Thank you!

Comments about Sony 49mm Circular Polarizing Glass Filter:
I am using this filter on a Sony alpha. It is doing the trick for me so far - it does not have a particularly powerful polarizing effect, but I seldom want that as with most digital cameras, it is very easy to over-polarize. But if you want dark, dark skies, for example, this may not be for you. So far, I have not noticed any vignetting.
The only reason not for 5 stars is that the polarizing effect will not be strong enough for some people.
