I was looking for a scanner that could scan tabloid size newspaper. This was the one I could afford and it does a satisfactory optical job. It is also the only Plustek scanner that offers a Mac OS driver. The interface is clunky and there is no documentation if you are a Mac user. It takes 26 seconds to scan a 10x14 page. My current project calls for scanning more than 1200 newspaper pages so faster wouldn't hurt but it's acceptable. The lid opens like a book and is on vertical pins, a nice feature for thick documents/books. I'm glad I found this for the money.

Comments about Plustek OpticPro A320 Tabloid Flatbed Scanner:
This is a good scanner and fast. It installed easily by following the included instructions but that's where the easy part ended. Although there was lots of software included there were no instructions on what did what or how to do anything such as scan a tabloid format document and create a pdf file which was my objective. It was all trial and error with lots of error.

I am digitizing the original 11 x 17 board masters of my grphic novel pages. The artwork is finely detailed. One board in particular is probably over 80 years old; i found it stuff in a home over a hundred years old wherein once I resided. The OpticPro A320 even picked up pleasing details in the texture. Again, I was expecting to have to pay much more for such quality.

Being a Graphite Artist that uses larger format paper to illustrate pieces, this scanner is perfect for me. I truly appreciate the fact that all weights of shadow and highlights are captured in the scans. I would have appreciated recieving a manual on how to use the different softwares that came with the scanner though. I would have saved a lot of time at initial setup time, if I could have read about the differences each software provides. But now that I have taken the time to bumble my way through the different formats, it has proven to be a good decision for enhancing my promotion of my business. Thank you again.

I found this scanner to be so easy to use, set up was simple and within minutes I was scanning. It is light weight and has many options. This scanner does not batch but for my purpose it wasnt necessary. You will get a "true" 12 x 17 scanner area and for the money it is a great deal. [...]

This PLUSTEK OpticPro A320 scanner is a great value. The speed that it scans is a pleasant surprise; and the fact that it has such a large scanning area is terrific!
Granted, much of what a person scans are smaller documents or photos, where a standard scanner does the job. But when you get a larger photo or item, like an 11x14 portrait, or a LIFE magazine where you want the whole page copied, this will do the job. The quality is superb; and I was hesitant at first, as I hadn't even heard of this brand before. But I am glad I bought the product; and for under $500 it is a great value.

We do a lot of black& white scans of landscape drawings--have been sending larger ones out, so this A3 size scanner is saving us a lot of time/money since we can do it in-house. Images much sharper than our tired old Epson, which has given up the ghost after years of abuse...push buttons on top great for our less technical staff too.
