Comments about Vixen Optics 7x50 ZCF Foresta Binocular:

These are excellent for low light use particularly but also during daytime. They feel solid in the hands. They display a 3D view that is unparalleled in my own experience. Really enjoyable is the view. They are sharp, bright, and virtually free of glarea and color fringing/CA. On many binocs I have trouble with eye relief because I like to wear my glasses [ 20/20 ] to see maximum details. No problem here. I actually have to have the eyepieces out on click for me and on most binocs with twist downs I need to have the eyecups twisted down. My glasses aren't thick fwiw and my correction is mild fyi so those with more correction may be challenged and may need the full down position on the eyecups. Speaking of the eyecups, my glasses sit right up on em no problems. Not sure what the first reviewer was troubled by. fwiw. The focuser on these is smooth and precise but due to the excellent depth of field you need to find exact focus in the middle of that DOF which means going from adequate focus to perfect focus. Or you can set it at say 30 yards out focused and just look at things and leave it alone! It will focus down to about 12 feet. If that's not close enough take a couple steps back LOL. These took some getting used to but I really am glad I got these and really enjoying the view. At this pricepoint you can't go wrong. I also own Nikon 8X32SE's which are more $$$ but also excellent. Those are tack sharp, same as this, lighter/smaller, also a loveable binoc but with less depth of field [still very good] but all around great but at least double the cost and they don't see into the dark as well. fyi. Pick your viewer or just buy both!!!

Comments about Vixen Optics 7x50 ZCF Foresta Binocular:

These are great optically BUT the eyecups are too big for most people so you can't get the correct eye relief and the result is you can't see the whole field of view. Be cautious!

Comments about Vixen Optics 7x50 ZCF Foresta Binocular:

I use the Vixen Foresta 7x50 primarily for birding on a daily basis. They are extremely bright as they are excellent under all lighting conditions but especially during dawn and dusk. The most outstanding features about them are their 3D View and their Depth of Field in which you can focus on an object 30 feet away and also see something just as sharply 100 yards away without have to adjust the focus. For a 7x the resolution of fine details is superb. The focusing is smooth and the speed is ideal. Although they weigh around 33 ounces they are extremely well-balanced and appear to be much lighter.Optically they are quite competitive with porro prism binoculars costing 2-4 times as much and with roof prisms costing upwards of $2000. Consequently, they are a Best Value!

Comments about Vixen Optics 7x50 ZCF Foresta Binocular:

            Excellent all around porro binoculars.
I use it for astronomy and appreciate its lightweight (33 ounces, less than 1 Kg).
Prisms are made of BAK4 and all surfaces are fully multicoated.
Optics are among the best i've seen in the $300 price range.
Excellent resolution and fair/good outer field sharpness.
It's also fog and water proof.

The only annoying thing is that the lens covers are very shallow and come off easily.

It comes with a case, overall I'd rate it a five star purchase.
