This bag was a compromise as I bought and tested about 4 bags for my safari to South Africa. I really wanted a durable and versatile bag that was made for backcountry/extreme usage. I was not able to find a bag that was the right size, with the features that I wanted. I did not need the computer storage, but I did want a tri-pod holder, side fast access, comfort, storage for a couple non-photo items such as a rain jacket, but I did not want too bulky of a bag. The Lowepro CompuPrimus AW is way too large and focused too much on the laptop storage. The Mountainsmith Borealis AT is very nice and I did keep it for future use, but it is big and the actual camera storage is not great (No fast access). The Fastpack 200 does not have the tri-pod storage, no rain fly, nor extra loops/clips/straps(handy when outdoors to attach accessories) but it was a nice size and held what I needed for a safari. I will probably use this bag often for normal day trips, but any camping, or excursions, I will switch to the Mountainsmith. I was able to live without a tri-pod holder because most of the bags that come with them, put them in bad areas that block the camera storage access. I would like clips on the side of the bag, opposite the fast access, that I could just strap the tri-pod to. ***The only negative to this bag is that I had the 2 zipper pulls break off on the camera storage compartment while out on game drives trying to do a quick lens change. They do not appear to be great quality. The bag itself is well made, however, and zipper pulls are cheap. I would recommend cutting them off and replacing with better ones before using. If I knew before I would have done this, as it was a pain to use without pulls, and did not have anything to rig up a temp pull. The bag is still worth it, and handled what I needed.

I have owned this backpack for slightly over a year. I very much like the "Fastpack" access and use it frequently. A little too frequently apparently. The zipper has given way right at the mid-point of entry if the pack were swung around to your front to gain access to your camera. I noticed that the stitching had started to fray, then the one of the zipper pulls got stuck, came off the track and is now entirely unusable, therefore rendering the "Fastpack" feature unuseable. I have yet to check into Lowepro's warranty, or if the zipper would even be covered. Everything else about the pack I have loved. It's comfortable, roomy enough for 3 or 4 lenses (depending on size of course)and a camera body. The water bottle feature is nice and the top portion of the pack has room for a few snacks, extra batteries...you get the idea. It also fits perfectly under an airplane seat. I would still recommend this product, just watch the zippers.

This is a great durable camera bag. It holds a lot of gear, I have my DSLR with 50mm attached, plus three other lenses, a flash and room for extra batteries, memory cards, etc.. I would buy this bag again.

Comments about Fastpack 200 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):

I haven't field tested it too much yet, but so far so good and sturdy. It looks small from the outside, but I was able to fit every lens I take when I'm hiking. That includes a 70-200 f4, 17-40 f4, and a 50 f1.4. I can fit my T2i with battery grip and the 7-200 on it. I didn't use two of the dividers, so I put them in the very bottom to give the lower lens an extra layer of padding.

I have this bag in black but needed a second bag for backup gear so i bought it in blue. Very durable, high quality bag. It's comfortable to wear full of all of my gear. Fits my DSLR camera with 50mm lens plus a flash, 3 more lenses, flash diffuser, and still room for batteries, memory cards etc...

Comments about Fastpack 200 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):

I recently purchased this backpack after an exhaustive search at the B&H brick and mortar store. It replaces a sling that that had become too small. In the camera section of the backpack I can fit my Canon T3, 430EX II flash, 18-55mm and 55-250 kit lenses, 10-22mm, 100mm Macro and 35mm f/2 Cannon lenses. The upper section is also very roomy and can be used to carry personal items while hiking, which a lot of backpacks don't accommodate. I'm able to carry my travel tripod (MeFoto Backpacker) in the top laying lengthwise. I live in NYC so this was a big criteria for me, because I wanted to be able to store my tripod inside so it isn't obvious I'm carrying a bunch of camera stuff. It does have side access, but it isn't as handy as a sling. You can retrieve your camera, but don't expect to be working out of the opening even though you can access an additional lens by pulling on a velcro flap. I found getting the camera out of the side kind of awkward and I had to take the pack off to put the two straps back on my shoulders. But, if you want to have access to your camera without setting down the backpack on the ground, the side opening does accomplish that. This backpack is not designed for exterior tripod storage, although you can rig it up by using the side water bottle mesh pocket and bungie cording the top of the tripod to the top loop. One thing I don't really like about the backpack is that it's very rigid, which offers really good protection for gear but affects comfort. It also doesn't come with a rain cover; I plan to buy that and a sternum strap separately. FYI, if you're wondering what the difference is between the 200 and 250; the 250 is the same size but adds a laptop compartment and belt strap. Overall a well made backpack for the money. I would also consider the Vanguard Adaptor 46 and Kata 3N1-25 PL if you don't care about carrying your tripod inside.

Right now mine is carrying 2 enthusiast level DSLRs, 3 lenses, and accessories comfortably with room to spare.

It's well padded and seems to hold everything in place well.

It has typical high Lowepro quality and is a well thought out design allowing easy access. It has a place for everything, and I can't wait to take it on more extended shooting trips.

Still new so no comment of durability, but it appears to be build solidly. I love how quick and easy it is to pull out the camera to take the fast shot. The backpack style is so much easier to carry around for hikes or longer photo shoots than the single strap (of which I owned 2 different styles)It has several strong adjustable "cubicles" in the bottom part of the backpack that stores my bulky flash, camera with a lense attached, a spare lense, my larger remote timer and still has space for one more lense (Now I just have to decide which lense to get!) I love that there is a different top section to store either extra camera equipment or other materials for day hikes.

I bought this as a carry on bag/camera bag for an upcoming vacation. It is nicely padded for gear protection. The bottom holds my Nikon camera & two lenses plus polarizers and small items. It's a snug fit it it works. It seems comfortable to carry and has room for a jacket, etc in the top compartment. I was hoping the iPad would fit in the outside zippered pocket, but the tablet is too large for that spot. I bought it specifically for the side-entry design, so the backpack doesn't have to be removed for access to the gear. Also, it stands upright on its own, unlike my old one that always fell over. Good price, nice gear, I'm happy.

I wished it would have a strap across the chest for added support. A roomy backpack that is the right size for walking around. Top compartment has enough room for incidentals for hiking. I love it.

Comments about Fastpack 200 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):

I had difficulty in getting my camera in and out of the bag and it barely fit my camera with a 24-70mm lense. My camera also has a sling strap which made it made more difficult to store the camera and strap.

However, the bag had plenty of top storage space and looked to be sturdy.

It was just too small for my camera setup.

Comments about Fastpack 200 Backpack (Black):

I own the Fastpack 100 but while traveling I found I wanted a little more room to hold my larger lens/raincoat.I did not want to give up the side opening feature as this is so handy to use. I really like the extra room the 200 offers and was surprised it really didn't feel much different on my back than the 100. The adjustable inserts make for easy packing of individual lenses and the padding protects your equipment nicely. The little bit of size difference between the 100 & 200 made alot of difference in what I could carry.I wish it had the waist strap but I was not using it for actual hiking so it was fine.On my trip to Alaska I had someone inquire about the pack as they saw me using the side opening and they planned to buy one A.S.A.P.because they loved the packs features.I recomend this over the sling pack as you can carry this on one strap(like the sling pack) or use both straps. Highly recomend this pack, you won't regret it.

I have been a religious Lowepro user for years, and this newest addition to my camera carrying gear met all my expectations........and definitely lived up to Lowepro's dedication to giving pro photographers the proper bag to cover the proper job. Gear is protected, organized, easily accessible, and the bag is roomy enough to carry extra accessories you might otherwise have to leave at home. Great job Lowepro!

This bag is alot larger than I expected it to be. My Canon Rebel T3, with the attached lens looks so small in the space (just means I need a larger lens, I suppose). But also the storage space on top is great. I can put all my extra camera stuff in the bag and still have extra space after putting my personal items in it too. Just wished it had a tripod holder.

Would definitely recommend this product if you like to carry extra stuff.

maybe can be good for amateurs, but in pro use, are not good
Just are space for 1 body of slr and always used with lens.
If the lenses are a big, there´s no space.
                                      Flash have no space...
