I bought this pack specifically for a 3 week trip through Europe. I needed a pack for my Nikon D300 (w/ grip), telephoto lens, 50mm lens, computer, and various electronics and cables.
After 'living' with the pack every day of the trip, I am very satisfied with it's design and performance. The pack probably weighed in at 20+ pounds fully loaded. The straps are comfortable and sturdy although I'm not a big fan of the sternum buckle and waist straps (wish I could disconnect the sternum buckle from the main straps). I tried using the 'fastpack' feature a couple of times but found that I didn't trust the overall stability (due to the weight I was carrying) in getting my camera out of the pack one-handed. It was not difficult to just set the pack down and safely remove the camera. The pack's contents are well protected from occasional rough handling. I only exposed the pack to light rain, so I can't comment on more extreme water protection.
It was easy to clear all security points (airports, museums, etc) with the pack and the outside pockets made it easy to access my travel documents. There is just enough room in the upper chamber to carry some extra clothes, if needed. The pack fit easily in overhead compartments on trains and airplanes.
I'm very satisfied with taking this pack on an extended trip.

Lowepro makes a great camera bag. It is easy to use and easy to load and unload the camera or lenses, even on a moving boat. It is comfortable and can be worn for hours. The mesh back provides some air circulation in a warm environment.

However, the chest strap came loose only 4 days into a 2 week trip. It is not sewed on and is only a plastic clamp that loosely attaches to a roll of plastic on the shoulder strap. Were it not for this shortcoming, it would receive a higher rating.

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

It's great having a camera backpack that will allow me to keep the battery grip on my camera. I has room for extra lenses, backup camera, filters, batteries, etc.
Once I adjusted the belts it fits great.
I tested to see if my 17inch laptop fits and it does.
It is very stiff and a bit uncomfortable with the laptop in it, but I will rarely have my laptop in this backpack.

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

I bought this bag from B&H a few weeks back and I've used it twice so far. Ergonomically, it is well created and well structured. My gear is as follows:1. Canon EOS Rebel T32. Canon EFS 18-55mm IS kit lens with Marumi DHG CPF.3. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II4. Tamron 70-300mm SP VC Di XLD with B+W MRC UV filterI attach my tamron most of the times to my camera body and carry it since that is my favorite lens so far. The total size of that lens+body combo comes to about 9 inches (with the lens hood reversed or without it) and it fits perfectly with lots of space left in the main compartment. If I keep my lens hood mounted in the normal direction, the total length becomes almost 12 inches which almost fits, I say almost because I can still close the zipper on the side without much effort but the lens hood touches the other end of the compartment leaving a little cramped up space for the shoulder strap to snuggle in the sides. With a full frame camera, I am not quite sure as to how good it would be a fit with the lens hood attached. The waist strap is really good and it supports the weight really well without it falling on your lower hips. The shoulder straps are well made and feel quite light with a heavy bag. I was able to carry almost 14-15 pounds in this bag with a laptop in the back (which was spacious even after I put in my 15.4" lenovo! It can very well hold a 17" plus a couple of small-sized notebooks!) The compartment above the camera compartment is well made as well and it can hold anything you want of about 9"x11"x5". The material of the bag is pretty well made, although I wouldn't call it 'water-proof' but it will hold up well in mild showers. Finally, the camera compartment flap has very good padding on all sides. The velcro separators are removable or adjustable as you find fit. The only thing I found quite annoying, although that is not what it is supposed to be used as, was when I wanted to remove my kit lens from one of the compartments with my bag in a sling position. I was not able to remove the lenses which makes sense since the compartments are tall enough to not let the lenses fall. You have to put it back like a normal bag and then, open the flap completely and remove the lenses which I guess is normal for bags with this structure. Overall, I really love this bag since it makes your gear seem pretty light and it suits me well for my current gear and hobby. :)

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

When I first received it I thought it was too big. But, after using it is the right size for me. It holds numerous lenses, a DSLR camera, flash unit, all accessories needed for me to carry out my photo needs. Plus it has space to add a lightweight coat, gloves, hat, flashlight and other items. It has an outside zippered compartment in which I store my snacks. It also has an outside water bottle holder which is great. It doesn't have a tripod carrying straps, but no big deal to me. I carry straps to affix it to the back of the backpack, which keeps the load centered for comfort.I keep my manuals in the laptop panel. I figured I couldn't go wrong with a pack from Lowepro.

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

A lot of the reviews I read talked about it having more than enough space for pretty much the exact equipment I have. I find that my equipment is a little snug for my liking and therefore not so easy to manage. In the sectioned compartment I have a Canon 6d with battery grip and 70-200 f/2.8 attached, a crop sensor body with battery grip, a 24-70 f/2.8 lens, and a 50mm f1.4. The large zipper section is nice but things tend to roll around in there. In using this as more or a transporting pack I should have looked into a case. Websites tend to push this pack for the wrong reasons, I believe.

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

If you're considering to buy this bag, you are probably split between this one and the AW version of the same bag. This 350 version is a slight bit bigger, you won't regret it.

Don't go for the AW just because you want to mount your tripod on a bag. The AW had one design flaw: That tripod mount is off to one side. This means once you start walking for 2 miles, you'll be in a world of hurt cause the weight of that tripod is off to one side. You'll feel it on your back.

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

I researched backpacks extensively. While there are other competitors that have similar products, this one was slightly bigger and met my minimum requirements. Also, the 250 appears to be an inch shorter and about an inch thinner. It may work for most.

I have non-camera equipment that I carry sometimes. It also fits well in the lower padded compartment, so I immediately tested that by removing all the dividers. The Velcro sticks very well, so it will stay together when used with camera gear.

My 16" notebook and charger fit in the long compartment in the back. When configured for my camera, my Nikon D5300, with a 70-300mm zoom attached, does fit! I also have a wide-angle zoom, flash, hoods, and filters that all fit. All the videos and reviews appear to be accurate as far as size. It is also generously padded (bottom & back).

The top compartment is padded on the side towards your back, while the other 3 sides are not as much. However, the sturdiness of the material provides adequate protection for most things. You could easily add some pads if you use the top for fragile items (or put them in their own cases).

It is a big backpack compared to the usual "book bag". It does easily meet the usual carry-on luggage requirements though. It is just flexible enough to fold the top down a few inches (if not fully packed on the top). This allows for fitting in tighter spaces. So it is not rigid, but the bottom is padded enough to give it sturdiness, and it stands up on its own.

I am pleased with the initial quality. It has a water-resistant material, like most backpacks. The pictures looked like it was a real soft and absorbent type material, but I was pleasantly surprised that it sheds water. It isn't waterproof, but since I have experience with my other backpack, made of the same material, it appears that it will hold up for awhile in the rain.

It is comfortable also. I haven't worn it for an extended time period yet, but the shoulder straps are very well padded and adjustable.

It is still new to me, so I can't write about durability, but I am very pleased so far.

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

This is a large bag and has a lot of space. Currently it contains 2 DSLR's (Canon D50 & D70) one with a 100 to 400 zoom lens attached. Three other lens. 1 13" laptop and all of of the support goodies. Its a little heavy with all this gear but sits well on the back and is not really uncomfortable. It can be a little tough to get the shoulder straps on, they seem a bit short for my size frame.
I would recommend this bag for anyone who carries a lot of stuff and wants fairly easy access to it.

Comments about Fastpack 350 Backpack (Black):

For the money it's very hard to beat. The strap connection points are very strong. There is no concerns about something giving way when its fully loaded and you swing it around on one strap to get your camera out. All the zippers are protected with flaps, the main access is protected with a secondary flap, etc.
I do own a competitors product that has more features but the build quality does not compare. The only thing missing from the Fastpack 350 is a rain cover and tripod attachment point.
The rain cover is not a biggie really, unit is pretty weather resistant as is.
              Highly recommend.

I tend to travel alot and the back pack is great as a carry on. It has enough space for all my camera and laptop needs.

I just got this pack and it seems great so far. I have seen some bad reviews on here about this bag so I'll have to see how this bad works out in the long run but so far I love this pack! I have two camera bodies, three lenses and a bunch of other stuff and I even have room left over for a sandwich!

Just got this about 2 weeks ago, and it has plenty of room for all my gear! I am working with 3 prime lenses and a 15 inch laptop with many accessories. Holds everything well and is built with reliable quality. It has a simple sleek design is also very comfortable. I just wish it came with a rain cover, why did you not include this Lowepro?! It would be perfect if this little 10 dollar accessory came with it!

This bag is pretty bulky and heavy. I ended up giving it to a person who is a much larger person than I am. It holds a ton of equipment, but you feel every bit of it. I like the Kata Bug MUCH better. I'm tall, but have a short torso and this bag hit me all kinds of wrong no matter how I adjusted it. I was sad because it's a beautiful bag to look at. I just need functionality over looks.

This bag is a good mix of space, utility, and cost. I use it to carry a Canon 5D3 w/ grip, 2 lenses 70-200 f2.8 and 24-105 f4, a 580 speedlite, a camcorder, and some filters. To do this however, my setup is nothing like the pictures. I wanted easy access to my second lens and flash. Having the camera in the middle doesn't work that well. You need to move the camera to one side do some rearranging with the dividers to accomplish this.

The construction is great and it is comfortable to carry for extended periods. I do wish it were a little bigger so that there were more arrangement options, but I am quite pleased overall.

Needed a basic backpack to carry camera gear, laptop and 'stuff' for travel, hiking, to work and play. This pack fits the bill and more. Good looks... Lots of room... Comfortable to wear/carry. Personally I couldn't ask for much more in a backpack that comes in at this price. I like my Think Tank Street Walker but this will be my main bag for quite sometime.
