I was looking for a bag large enough for a tripod and several light stands for hauling to real estate jobs. After looking at the options and reading several reviews here at B&H I decided on this one. It's really nice and top quality all around including the materials, zipper, and workmanship.
The inside pockets are actually quite large, with one at each end and are sewn in place for protecting the head of a tripod or light stand adapter. The handle can easily handle a heavy load and it include a shoulder strap, but that could be awkward with a large load of gear.
The pictures don't do this one justice. I had some doubts before it arrived but was 100% satisfied upon opening the box.

Too flimsy. I like the Tenba one.
I prefer a harder case with some straps inside. Ordered this and the Tenba TTP. Went with the Tenba.

Comments about Tamrac 328 Professional Location Bag (Black):
Could it use a padded strap and a set of wheels with a pull handle, of coarse but at this price who is complaining. Bag doesn't take up much space. I use it as a stand case for the most part. It as 4 12' stands, 2 9' stands, 1 large boom stand and a background bar. With all that, it still zips up easily and nothing is flopping about with the pockets holding everything in place. That being said, the pockets are just that (like a sleeve). They are in the bottom third of the bag. I wish it had a velcro strap in the top third. This would make me feel better when I have a smaller set up and have stands in one side a shapers on the other. If your looking for a lighting bag I would keep looking. I would never put heads in there.

Comments about Tamrac 328 Professional Location Bag (Black):
This bag is far better than I expected. It is slightly padded, comes with a shoulder strand and of course carrying handles. That is if you don't want to put in on your shoulder. However, you'd be a full not to, once you load this thing up.
I currently have it packed with all kinds of things:
(3) 13' Lightstands(2 Impact and 1 PCB)
(2) 10' Background stands and poles in their carrying case
(3) Umbrellas (1 PCB 46", 1 42", and 1 Small 26")
(1) PCB Speedring
(1) Benro Tripod in the carrying case.
If that doesn't tell you the capacity of this bag then you'll just have to buy one and find out for yourself. I must admit it definitely helps me out, i went from making 3-4 trips, to now only having to make 1 or 2 to load up and shoot on location.

This strong bag can hold three stands, a 3 ft. softbox by Elinchrom and a bunch of cables and it still feels it can take more..Easy to carry, great padding....

Like many professional photography veterans, I have many cases/bags for gear. I use and abuse my gear and require rugged, thoughtful equipement. The Tamrac 328 is just such a bag. I owned another tamrac 328 for over 15 years that finally succumbed to my abuse. I didn't hesitate to purchase another identical bag.

Comments about Tamrac 328 Professional Location Bag (Black):
Needed a bag for background stands and bar - holds all that as well as reflector stand, gaf tape, clamps, boom arm - lots of space and durable. Two "long" pockets to tuck stands into to keep them from banging together is also a nice touch.

Great, heavy-duty, well made bag. Ours carries 2 light stands (AS-3s), a Manfrotto background pole, some C-stand grip arms and heads and a plethora of other grip gear.
The only downside is that the bag is a little pricey and the handles could be much better (more comfortable)

Comments about Tamrac 328 Professional Location Bag (Black):
After trying different lighting and tripod bags to carry my lighstand and not getting something that I realy like, I decide to try the Tamrac 328 bag. At first I was reluctant to buy it due to the price but I was happy as soon as I got it and saw the quality and how roomy it is. Finally a bag in which I can carry 2 lightstand and an octabox with no problem. My friend saw it and he liked too, so he also got one.

I love this bag! It is very heavy duty and has enough room for about 5 big stands. I'm also able to throw my tripod in there as well. Great construction. I feel like the stands are well protected.

Comments about Tamrac 328 Professional Location Bag (Black):
This bag would be great except it isn't long enough to fit the Interfit background telescopic crossbar. I bought it to fly to Ireland to shoot a wedding and will now just be using whatever background is available for my portable Profoto light. The bag itself is very well made and I would love if Tamrac made one 50" long.

I use this to hold a convertible stand/boom of 44" and a Manfrotto tripod of 46" folded. Also: two more 6ft light stands, two reflector holders and stands, and a folded softbox in it's case.
Very well made, stitched to last, strap wraps around bag. Nice compartments inside to protect stand heads. The only downside is that the shoulder strap is a bit tough on the shoulders. Would recommend getting the Tamrac padded shoulder strap with some extensions. I think I will.
Best is that it's made here in the USA and priced very fairly.

This bag is very well made and great value-for-money. My first order was for two of these and I have already ordered a third.
I use the bags for lightstands and for a wide selection of softboxes, umbrellas etc. They exceed my expectations for bags that are so inexpensive relative to alternatives..

This bag was more spacious than I expected. I probably would have ordered one size smaller in retrospect, but find it, like all Tamrac products, to be the best quality I've ever seen. I have no doubt it will last, just as my other Tamrac bags have

Some bags were TOO BIG - Some bags were TOO SMALL. This one was JUST RIGHT for three light stands, one mic stand and three Lowell Rifa soft boxes (folded down). Also got various accessories in as well: tape, extension chord, power cords. In all, a tight fit but an efficient fit - Excellent value in a bag, proving you don't have to drop a ton of cash to get what you need.

This bag is very well made and has plenty of room. I put 5 light stands, cables, and light heads,(lowel Tota Lights) and still have room for more stuff. It is well padded and very comfortable to carry and use. It maintains its shape no matter what I put inside, so it will always lay flat. It fits perfectly in the trunk of my car. I highly recommend this product and would buy it again.

I have been a commercial photographer for 11 years. When I am out on the road the last thing I want to think about is storage of my tools. Yes I said it, tools. As photographers we sometimes forget that we are at work. I have always been an advocate of keeping gear clean and safe. The less you tear up the less you buy. Profits go up. Thats the name of the game. The Tamrac 328 hold 3 light stands and my Slik Pro 700DX AMT very well.
