The Tiffen 67mm Digital High Transmission (DHT) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter is a filter that contains the strength of a titanium coating along with high-end optical glass. Using their patented ColorCore technology, this filter represents the highest scratch-resistant durability available. There is no need to worry about cleaning this filter since the coating protects the surface thereby maintaining the optical quality of the glass.
This filter has a low profile design as well an extra durable filter ring. The "Wow" feature is that Digital HT filters are rated to surpass military specifications for hardness and durability - no small achievement.
Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast.
The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.
Note! Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems and video cameras without problems)

Comments about Tiffen 67mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter:
I've only recently purchased this filter but I have used each five days straight. It's been wonderful so far. Why not five stars you ask? Only reason is because I haven't owned it long enough to really get some use out of it.

Dedicated to a specific lens, but Cokin type filters either have to be handheld or vignette with wide angle lenses

Comments about Tiffen 67mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter:
I usually divide the cost of a lens by the number of elements that make it up. I use this results to set a minimum price for any filter that I will attach to this lens. In other words a good lens requires a filter at least of equivalent quality. I have had excellent results with all of my Tiffen HT filters.

Comments about Tiffen 67mm Digital HT (High Transmission) Circular Polarizing Multi-Coated Filter:
The Tiffen HT Circular Polarizer has a much subtler effect on my photos than I have experienced with polarizers from other manufacturers. The fact that it transmits more of the available light reduces the extreme color saturation you get with other circular polarizers which may reduce your exposure by as much as two stops. This keeps my exposures much truer to the natural color which is always desirable. An expensive product to be sure, but you do get what you pay for.
