Comments about Quik Pod Quick Pod Pro Extendable Handheld Boom-Style Tripod (Blister Pack):

The tripod holds my webcam with ease, but I couldn't imagine a bigger camera on it (as the collapsible legs push in way too easy). Overall though, it's exactly what I needed to help take employee pictures.

Comments about Quik Pod Quick Pod Pro Extendable Handheld Boom-Style Tripod (Blister Pack):

The entire unit is made from extremely cheap plastic. The knob to tighten the end-post is plastic with a metal nut. In my case, simply trying to tighten it lightly caused the nut to break in half. I made another knob out of aluminum but because the pivot is made from aluminum (the only part that is), and the mount is plastic, it slips with the slightest weight. When tightening it so the camera wouldn't flop over, the camera mount broke too. I kept the cheap hand strap to use on some other gear and that broke also (the fabric pulled out of the mount). All of this occurred within 15 minutes of unpackaging. Replaced the whole thing with a real monopod and kicked myself for ever wasting money on this junk in the first place. Only the mini tripod is worth keeping and that's not saying much as there are much better ones for $5-10.

Attempted to use this with a GoPro Hero HD 2, which is not a particularly heavy product. I can't image using a compact camera with it or anything heavier.

Even if your camera is small and light, the pod is flimsy and when extended any hand small vibration will propagate as a wave shaking of the camera.

It's all plastic and very unstable. You must tighten very carefully or you will strip the plastic wing nut. It wasn't expensive but I would have gladly paid more for a metal unit, especially the tightening apparatus

Comments about Quik Pod Quick Pod Pro Extendable Handheld Boom-Style Tripod (Blister Pack):

I use the extendable handheld boom-style tripod to photograph myself with my grandchildren.
I don't have to hand my camera over to a total stranger who may run off with it.
The one thing that is not so great is the tiny little mirror. It is extremely difficult to see if you have the camera positioned correctly so not to cut off our heads in the shot.
