Questions? Ask our experts:

The Lectrosonics MCA5X Plug-On Transmitter Adapter is a handy device with XLR male and TA5 male connections. The adapter converts Lectrosonics headset and lavalier microphones with TA5 connections, so that they may be used with Lectrosonics plug-on transmitters (H series). Phantom power is passed to the electret-condenser microphones, eliminating the need for an additional bodypack transmitter for any reason.

Comments about MCA5X Plug-On Transmitter Microphone Adapter for Lectrosonics TA5 Microphones:

This allows us to send off our belt pack for repair and allows the cube to be used for a lav mic. No more complaints from the photog about not having a lav available. Very rugged and believe it or not it is actually photog proof.

Comments about MCA5X Plug-On Transmitter Microphone Adapter for Lectrosonics TA5 Microphones:

I use the adapter to power a lectro lav. Make sure you check the pin-out of your lav and that the mic you plug it into will support phantom power so you do not blow the FET.
This unit is NOT a power supply. If you need to supply +5v power, look at the PSC power supply sold here at B&H.

Comments about MCA5X Plug-On Transmitter Microphone Adapter for Lectrosonics TA5 Microphones:

This adapter works as expected. It's a little expensive for what it is but that seems to be the same with all Lectrisonics brand equipment. I use it with my UH400A for interviews. Overall I'm satisfied with the mic and this adapter.
