LumiQuest Pocket Bounce Kit - for Shoe Mount Flash
This LumiQuest Pocket Bouncer Kit consists of the Pocket Bouncer, Gold Insert, and Silver Insert.
The Pocket Bouncer enlarges and redirects the light at a 90° angle from the flash to soften the quality of light and distribute it over a wider area. While no exposure compensation is necessary with automatic flashes, operating distances are somewhat reduced.
The Pocket Bouncer is used to soften the flash light output with minimal light loss; to be used with slaves or alone where low ceilings are not available, or where more direct but soft fill light is desired. It attaches to the flash head in seconds with the included touch-tab fasteners.
The silver insert adds a specular look to highlights, particularly useful for weddings. The gold insert adds a warm tone to the scene, particularly useful for outdoor fill flash. These inserts attach with hook and loop dots to the bounce surface of the Pocket Bouncer to further modify the quality of light.

Shooting picture in close range (6' or less) with my Canon XTi & 430EX flash produce washed out faces. Bouncing the flash to ceiling (or wall) help some but in many situations, no wall near by or the ceiling is too high (and not horizontal). This works quite well. For indoor lighting, the base white works best. The silver liner made the flesh tone some what cool white and the gold liner made the flesh tone too warm.

I'm a photographer mainly working in the high Arctic. Well, i bought this item some weeks ago. It produces softer shadows like promised and it is very easy to handle. I like the golden insert, it gives an amazing warm light.
BUT: As i work in cold conditions - this item is not usable here.
Even in ONLY -6°C i breaks like glass, not talking about my last shooting here in the kindergarden when we had outside -18°C and strong wind.
I ended up in covering the entire item in Duck Tape what helps a little.
The only one solution of using it in the cold is to put it on your flash and not to take it off the flash until you get inside again - otherwise it will fall apart!!!

Very handy tool, performs better than that index card I've been using up until now. The size and convenience of the bounce kit are great, fits easily in my back pocket when not in use.

I love these things because they are light, compact and work well. Unfortunately they are also poorly made, fall apart easily and the velcro rarely works. Luckily they are really cheap so when they break you can just go buy another one. I go through one at least every 6 months. Still they are well worth it for great even light.

I use this for covering events. Tried some of the other similar products. I like this one the best. I use it with the ultra strap on an sb900. It's rare to find something that works well, easy to use, high quality and really inexpensive. I'm impressed.

Works good when you want to soften the light in portrait photography and can't afford to loose much flash power. Looks very professional. Portable, very lite. But be aware that it is very easy to miss align it when attaching to your speedlite and end up with a picture where only the buttom half of your image is exposed to light, expessially when you use bigger zoom lenses. Always test your beam angle after putting it on.

I use the Lumiquest bounce kit to soften the lighting when flash would be too harsh. This also will soften the shadows that many times are so harsh when a flash is used.
It's an inexpensive and simple solution to a common problem.

I use this product for indoor portrait photography and fill in for outdoor bright light photography. Simply put - this gets the job done and exceeded my expectations. Easily changeable between the silver and gold inserts. Attaches and detaches easily with the velcro tabs and stays put. Great product.

This product is great when it isn't practical to bounce off of a ceiling. Much softer light than a bare flash. I havn't tried the gold in sunlight yet. The silver was a little cool for my taste/situation, but did exactly what it was supposed to do. Easy to change. Get the cinch strap with it.

I am a photography student. I like the fact that these bounce kits are very easy to put into a camera bag and take with you to a photo shoot. I like everything about this product except that the 80/20 bounce has a problem staying in position without assistance.

Use it with a Nikon SB-800. Works well to soften the light. I especially like the golden insert that gives a very nice sunset type light for outdoor portraits. It is a bit bulky once fitted on top of the flashgun in vertical position but it has the merit of folding neatly into a small piece of kit for transport.
