Instead of spending $50 to $100 for a back strap system I decided to try these clips on my Go lite backpack. I biked 15 miles around Shark Valley in Everglades National Park with my Canon D400 and a 70-200 F2.8 hanging from the straps with no problem. The camera was close, comfortable and gave me room to work. Had my binoculars underneath the camera and I could unhook one strap to swing to camera off to the side to use the bins. This product exceeded my expectations. Since my backpack didn't have D-rings I installed two metal ovals to attach the clips too. I'm now going to see if there is a quick disconnect camera strap. There are times I still want the strap now that these clips are installed.

I attached these straps onto a Z -65 Gregory multi day backpack, for a hike and camping trip in the BC Rockies. The N -11s supported a full frame DSLR with a 17 - 35 mm zoom lens attached, on the move for a 5 day trip covering over 50 miles of mountain terrain. My only issue was the first day with a bouncing movement against my stomach. To correct that issue I used a light weight string to hold the lens barrel tight to my core, with the string looped around the backpack waist belt. Also, when the camera is released from thequick release clips you may wish to revert back to a camera strap. Tameron also make a padded camera strap with the quick release feature so it makes sense to purchase both if you are considering this product..

Comments about Tamrac N-11 Backpack to Camera Straps:

These are great for hanging your camera off of a backpack.

It hangs the camera just below or at your chest level and is long enough to take a shot or 2 without having to unhook them.

Hook up and unhook in a flash.

I have hung a big Nikon with grip and lens and it feels plenty secure. Being a Tamrac product, I trust their quality.

The extended length from fastener to fastener with the strap adjustment all of the out is 10".

Comments about Tamrac N-11 Backpack to Camera Straps:

Backpack to camera straps are not all that easy to locate [B&H does list several on their site]. The Tamrac straps are very reasonably priced and are compatible with their N45 strap (actually they are compatible with all their quick release straps). Quality is top notch and both straps easily adjust.

Comments about Tamrac N-11 Backpack to Camera Straps:

I have a Canon EOS 7D with a battery grip and 18 to 135mm lens attached, it gets heavy after a while! I do not use a neck strap for that reason and because it gets in the way. This is a great way to have your camera handy ready to shoot. There is enough adjustment in the straps for most shooting and the quick releases are easy to open and close for the other times. Having the camera hang on the backpack shoulder harness REALLY saves your neck! Depending on where you are walking, the camera might sway a little bit. I just steady it with a free hand, NOT a big deal.

These connect the camera to the backpack. Bought the N-27 strap a while back. What a neck saver ! Got these to use when hiking with a backpack. The Tamrac photo backpack does not have D-Rings ? ? Whats up with that. I found some D-Rings in the camping area of a local store. Will have them sown on by the guy that does my leather / boot repair.

I haven't had a chance to try this yet but it seems a very easy solution to take the weight of the camera off your neck when hiking with a backpack. I use the Tamrac camera strap which has the same clips so it only takes 10 seconds to swap the strap for the backpack straps.

Just used this for the first time on a 40+ mile trek in Peru. I didn't know how to best carry my DSLR, but knew I didn't want to carry it around my neck, while carrying a pack. This puts the weight on the pack, so the camera is hardly noticeable. When you don't have the pack on you can quickly unsnap the camera and add the standard Tamrac strap, which is also strong, and the clips are very strong as well. Nice system!

I was trying to figure out how best to carry my camera with my hiking gear without putting a lot of stress on my neck, and the backpack straps worked great for me.

Comments about Tamrac N-11 Backpack to Camera Straps:

Since we use Tamrac Camera straps already, having a few sets of these on each backpack makes switching from the normal camera strap to a backpack seamless.

Having the camera hang off the backpack frees up your hands to hold onto a hiking staff, work with the tripod or swap lenses

Works great. I use the chest strap of the backpack to keep the camera from swinging. You do need to also carry a regular neck strap that will click into the camera part of the system to use when you take the backpack off.

This product allowed me to use my camera hanging from the shoulder straps of my knapsack or backpack and not around my neck. My camera was constantly available for use without searching for it and I didn't even feel the weight. The straps have a quick release that allow the camera to be put away quickly in case it rains.

These straps are great. We live here in Az. and hike every weekend. My camera hanging around my neck would drive me crazy. I purchased these straps and they a Awesome. They connect to your camera just like the original neck strap does with the exception they hook right to your backpack. They hook on easily and come off easily. The camera is right there in front of you, no more neck strap rubbing. I plan to buy a few more of these for family members.
