Comments about Manfrotto 122B Adjustable Pole for Backlight Stand - 21 to 33.5" (53-85cm):
I use this as either a portable stand to hold an off-camera speedlite, or to place in a base (again for off-camera speedligte work), It is extremely light and versatile, and perfect for these uses.

Comments about Manfrotto 122B Adjustable Pole for Backlight Stand - 21 to 33.5" (53-85cm):
Using the 122B adjustable pole to extend the Westcott Mega JS Apollo (50x50") softbox from the umbrella bracket to allow tilting the softbox downwards. Without this (or a contraption of two umbrella brackets or door mending plates - which I was using) you couldn't tilt the softbox down... only straight ahead. I've got my lightstand sandbagged to keep it from tipping over. Much happier with this set up now.

Comments about Manfrotto 122B Adjustable Pole for Backlight Stand - 21 to 33.5" (53-85cm):
Was to extend a 10 foot lightstand higher. The main problem I find is that it is of lighter construction than I had imagined. Therefor, using it above 10 feet will be dangerous if using anthing heavier than a speedlight.

Works well with the Manfrotto backlight stand. This gives you a bit more height than just the stand.

Comments about Manfrotto 122B Adjustable Pole for Backlight Stand - 21 to 33.5" (53-85cm):
I like to travel a lot, and one thing I always found frustating was the choice of taking a tripod or a light stand. Using this, a Manfrotto MA158, a spare QR plate and a left over spigot from a Manfrotto umbrella holder, I can now very quickly turn my tripod into a respectable height light stand.
My only complaint, is that this is too sturdy for my speed light needs. Slightly thinner and therefore lighter, would have suited me better. Or maybe a 3 section one which folds up smaller. All in all though, very happy with this combo. On my next trip my Nano lightstands will stay at home!

I use the pole with monolight strobes and sometimes speedlites, for illuminating a background or for an accent light, such as a rim or hair light.

I have used this adjustable pole to gain versatility for my off-camera flash at weddings where I am constantly moving want to get more flexibility in my lighting options. It has two attachment sizes at both ends and is lightweight. The only drawback may be carrying it when not in use unless you can find a way to attach it to your bag. It is a fantastic addition to how I shoot.

Using these adjustable poles in an overhead lighting grid. They work fantastic, esp. having baby spuds on both ends. Very easy to adjust up and down.

Perfect accessory to the Bogen/Manfrotto Nano Stand. I use it to mount my Apollo softboxes to allow the tilt point to be outside the Apollo...works with both the 28 and 50inch boxes. Will also allow the Nano to go from 6ft to almost 9ft.
Also handy with the Manfrotto Superclamp.
