I have been using these batteries for over 10 years and this is the first time I have had to replace the originals. They won't hold a charge any more. I would like to see a battery belt where several of these could be installed and fire up one and a time asthey run out of juice. I do that many long shoots that such a consecutive charging battery belt would really be useful. That being said, the batteries themselves are excellent and provide very adequate service.

The Pearlstone lithium-ion battery is a great battery for a reasonable price! I use it to power my 8mm camcorder. The fact that it has no "memory" permits it to be re-charged at any time. I look forward to confiming its virtues on my upcoming trip to the Caribbean.

I got this as a replacement backup battery for my Canon Vixia HV30 after the available Canon model (that was supposed to replace the original model by Canon) proved to be incompatible. So far I can say that this battery charges in the camera and powers it. Unfortunately it does not fit my external charger, which makes it somewhat less useful. But I'm glad to be able to continue using the Vixia for a while more.

I bought this battery for use with my aging Canon HV20 HDV tape camcorder. These replacement batteries (I bought two) work great and lasted for hours. My old ones of equivalent mAh did not hold a charge past an hour with the LCD flipped open.
Anecdotally, these seemed to about 3-4 hours with various starts and stops and LCD flipped out most of the time.
I was skeptical buying non-Canon batteries, but these worked great and were a pleasure to use, due to their reliability and the extra filming time I have now; well worth the price.
Considering just one? Get two!

Great to have - first use be sure to charge up completely. While not in use, waiting for event to start (long swim meet), turn camera off to save battery. Left it on for 2 hours and got about 1 hour life. However, I am unsure if I fully charged it for this first use, as I thought I had.

I can't say a lot about this battery as I just bought it less than a month ago and have only recharged it once, but it's diffinatly as good as the original Canon battery. It lasted over an hour with the LCD on all the time. I just can't judge a battery so soon without charging it 20-30 times and then see how it works. B&H sent me an email to rate this not long after receipt so maybe I'll comment again in 6 months with a better idea of how it holds up... but so far so good.
