The battery itself is great. The only problem it did not come with a plastic protector for the connection end of the battery. This should be included with every battery!!

Not everyone is able to update their cameras and their accessories.
Owning an Olympus E-volt 520 DSLR since it's inception three or four years ago, i was quite disappointed and annoyed at my inability to procure a suitable backup and replacement for the BLM-1 battery that the 520 requires.
B&H now offers an after-market replacement made by Pearstone which can be re-charged--and at a reasonable cost.

comparing this to the original olympus (no longer available), you can tell the pearlstone is made in china. But functionally it appears to do the job. Holds a charge and works in my e-520. Overall pretty happy with this as an emergency backup.
