The Bowens Ringlite Converter is an attachment which allows you to convert your standard Bowens flashhead to produce ringflash-style light. Simply put the camera lens through the center of the light source. This creates a softer, wholesome surrounding light around the lens which reduces shadows. It can also create shadowing around the outline of the subject so users can work with a specific photographic effect.

Comments about Bowens Ringlite Converter:
I wanted to achieve the look of a ringlite without having to pay too much as I won't use it that often. I use mine on a special stand that allows for easy vertical adjustments from floor to 8'. Without this and used on a light stand, I think it would be a bit more limiting. It's more a light attachment for a fixed lighting set up where you're controlling everything carefully. Because the modeling light is disconnected, you have to have other ambient light available to check your composition etc. Changing from horizontal to vertical is a bit cumbersome as you essentially take the unit apart and reset it up.

Comments about Bowens Ringlite Converter:
I'm using the Ringlite on Bowens Gemini's and am really quite impressed. The light is diffused, even and has a rather nice falloff, perfect for fashion or product.
If your using light stands that you got as part of a Bowens kit you may want to invest in stronger (heavier) light stands. Not because this product is heavy but when it is combined with your camera and lens it's better to be safe.
Unfortunately you need to remove modeling globes to attach this ringlite. However, I have not found this to be much of an issue.
A professional ringflash at an affordable cost (to those of you that already have Bowens).
