        Comments about Tenba T385 TriPak:

I needed a bag to carry my Bogen tripod w/ 3-way head and 2 Manfrotto light stands. The 385 would only fit tripod and 1 stand. Exchanged it for the Tenba 388 and it fit everything with quite a bit of room to spare. I needed this bag to be as compact as possible for small jobs I ride the subway to. Ended up getting a Kata Pro-Light ATB-80-120 and it works perfectly.

            Comments about Tenba T385 TriPak:

In most respectds, this is a great bag. It is sturdy, roomy, well built and quite functional. So, what's the problem? Tenba has built a great product, but, like so many other manufacturers, the have tanked it by adding one 'feature' and doing it cheaply. And this 'feature', like with so many other manufacturers, is so-called waterproofing. You take a great product and add a thin layer of the cheapest polyurithane you can get [...] and pretend that you have made your product better. Unfortunately, all you have done is made your product a target for mold, mildue and, as it gets older, disintegration. This bag almost made it 10 years. The fabric and construction could easily make it 30+ years, but now I have to throw it away. What's the point?Domke does it better. Their canvas is virtually waterproof, unless you stand in the rain for hours at a time. In that case, I just set up a tent or poncho and my equipment NEVER gets wet. My first Domke bag is over 25 years old and going strong. The Domke tripod bag is a buck or two more than this bag, but it WILL last for the life of the fabric and construction.

                Comments about Tenba T385 TriPak:

A little bit on the small side for a medium bag- one medium light stand, one compact light stand, monopod, two umbrella heads and two compact umbrellas barely fits.
                Well constructed.
Nice strap set up makes for easy carrying.

Pefectly sized bag when I just need to travel light & go on-location. Holds my 60" & 45" umbrellas with brackets, and my 6' & 8' lightstands beautifully. Straps are also long enough to carry backpack-style.

I use this pack (two of them) to carry lighting tripods and a manfrotto tripod as well as a reflector rod. I load the reflector rod (holder) and manfrotto in one bag, and the two light tripods go in the other bag. Everything fits great. Large zipper seems pretty durable. Unpadded so If you plan to ship your things, I suggest getting a padded version.

If you have light stands you need a case. I have 3 Bogen / Manfrotto BO367B 367B Basic Light Stand - 9' (2.7m) that I carry in this case. They fit perfectly and the strap makes it easy to carry. Only negative thing I can say is that the zippered pouch on the bag needs to be larger or even add another pouch.

                            Comments about Tenba T385 TriPak:

                            The T385 TriPak is a medium-volume tripod/light stand bag.

I was tired of carrying my umbrellas, light stands, tripod and other accessories in an oversized sierra design duffel or strapped to a lowepro backpack. The former solution was cumbersome and difficult to carry while the latter didn't offer sufficient carrying capacity.

In purchasing the T385, I considered various other options. I decided on the T385, because of its simple design, my experience (and satisfaction) with other Tenba products, and the price.

I have been very happy with the T385. At 37" it provides sufficient capacity for my longer light stands and larger umbrellas. It is built very well and features a large, robust zipper as well as strong rip-resistant nylon. It also carries very well and is easy to sling over my shoulder while wearing a backpack or shoulder bag.

I would recommend the T385 as a simple, durable tripod/light stand bag. It is ideal for carrying and storing an arsenal of stands/umbrellas/softboxes in. It is, however, not padded and would not be suitable for shipping or transporting more expensive/fragile equipment in.
