Comments about Sony VCT-50AV Tripod with Remote:

Very useful for Sony cams with 10-pin AV connectors. Works really well with VG-20 even though the zoom function is not useful.

I find this tripod useful for travel. It's small enough to fit in a suitcase, but expands to a size that enables me to get the shots I need. Very happy with the purchase.

Took off the control arm and put it on a much better Velbron tripod. It did fit on the model that I have with no modification. Velbron also makes the VCT-50AV tripod for Sony.

Comments about Sony VCT-50AV Tripod with Remote:

This remote control tripod worked great. The only thing would be that this model had a flimsier tripod stand that was too light which made the footing weak and the maximum height was still too low for most people. If my camera was any heavier, I don't think it would be able to withstand the pressure. Overall, I was happy with the purchase, performance and the price.

Comments about Sony VCT-50AV Tripod with Remote:

I purchased the VCT-80 before I found this tripod.
Both tripods have remote handles. I called Sony and asked them for the replacement part number for the remote handle on the VCT-80 and this (VCT-50) tripod. The remotes are identical.

I returned the VCT-80 and bought three VCT-50's.
I removed the remotes and put them on my professional tripods (the VCT-50 is a bit whimpy).
I even adapted one remote to work with my HDR-FX1. I used the other two on my HDR-SR11 camcorders.

Just finished a three camera shoot. They worked fantastic.

I am making new handles for the VCT-80 tripods and giving them as gifts.

The remote alone is worth twice the price.

The remote is continiously variable, not the two speed wonder of previous models.

I am very happy with this purchase.
