The Apple Micro-DVI to DVI Adapter is designed to fit the slim profile of MacBook Air. This adapter allows you to connect to an external DVI monitor or projector. It can also be used in combination with the Apple DVI to ADC adapter to support older Apple flat panel Studio or Cinema Displays.

Micro DVI was a short lived standard and finding converters to DVI, HDMI, Thunderbolt, etc is problematic. For us older Mac Air owners, pickings are slim. Micro-DVI to DVI or to VGA are the only options (neither have sound support when reconverted to HDMI) and generic manufacturers no longer manufacture them. Nonetheless Apple's quality/warranty is good while B&H's pricing is fair and their shipping was fast.
