Phenominal speakers!! I use them with my pioneer elite reciever and samsung LED tv to complete my 7.1 surround sound, they replaced my front two satelite speakers and I was blown away with the difference ...what a difference these speakers make ...a bargain for these awesome speakers ...great quality build and superior sound quality ...I just want to listen to the THX intro over and over!! Music is broad, sharp, crisp and amazingly clear ...but I use them more for my surround sound for my
blu-ray movies where uncompressed sound need great speakers and these go above and beyond!! Thanks JBL and B&H!!

These Speakers are great sounding Speakers when they are in perfect working order with clear balanced sound. I've owned these speakers now for just over a year I purchased them first quarter of 2011. Let me first off by stating that these speakers are strictly used in a Home Theater Room powered by an Onkyo-NR809 and have never been overly powered by any means and have been 100% without a doubt always been connected correctly. My issue with these speakers is that at the "Ultrahigh-Frequency Transducer" & "High-Frequency Transducer" fail faithfully. If you never heard these speakers before you my believe that the Mid Rang is strong IMHO too strong on these speakers and will adjust your equipment to compensate for it. My buddy and my brother own these speakers as well and are also having and had the same issue with these speakers. In my case I have two speakers that are having this issue and in my brothers case he only has one speaker with the issue and its only with the "High-Frequency Transducer". These speakers are great sounding speakers for the price but buyer BEWARE !!!!!. Working with JBL warranty is easy the only drawback is that it seems that these specific parts are always on back order and this maybe the issue why..... what are you going to do once the warranty is over?....just food for thought. -Peace-

I started on this quest because the JVC Center speaker was so good, that I upgraded all my Boston acoustics speakers to a JVC system. Three way speakers have a much smoother sound quality. Moving from 6" fronts to 8" and moving to a bigger Amplifier have made the room come alive. Running lower volumes and using ES50's as my surround speakers is a bit much, but sounds oh so nice. Our moderate living room sounds like a nice theater with many personal advantages over a real theater. These speakers could possibly use more power, but that will be for another time. Moving from 100 to 135W/ch. makes a big jump in movie watching. The presence these speakers allow in Dolby digital 5.1 watching even at lower levels are impressive. This is a big jump from the 85W/Chanel where I started with an Harmon Kardon AVR80 with all satellite speakers. Small rooms are OK for that kind of area, but when you have bigger rooms a more powerful system and these speakers are a real nice compliment. The clarity on the high end to the low makes me wonder if a Subwoofer is even necessary with this system. More experiments and fun things to try when I have more time. If you like highs and lows with a clarity in sound quality you will love these speakers. A slightly bigger amp might help, but I can't currently prove that theory.

Purchased in conjunction with new 5.1 home theater system and used as main front speakers. Seems to provide accurate and powerful sound when called upon.
JBL provides different sets of "feet" for the speakers depending whether they're set on carpet or floor. That is interesting and possibly innovative, though it means it's probable that the alternate set will be lost over time making the speakers impossible to move to a different surface in the future.

I have owned various home theaters and had a mismatch of speakers. Been buying same product line cause have a friend who works on stereos and mentioned having to many different speakers may conflict with others. Invested on JBLs to match others I have and no this point no regrets. Good sound for the price. Check the specs on others and have a similar characteristics for more monies. They have such good bass as well that I had to lower the volume on my subwoofer. Great height in taking guess work about where to place speakers cause the tweeters and midrange are pretty much at ear level which is where it's best to have these features. If on a budget they are good for the price range of speakers of that category and size. Great price point in B and H plus the staff was so helpful in loading into my vehicle cause they are tall.

I set up these pair of speakers with Yamaha A-S500 Amplifier and power sub woofer Polk PSW505 for listening the music and wonderful with crystal clear sound i love these 3 units work so well together!The Yamaha product better sound than Harman kardon HK3490 i have as well!

Although they were a bit larger than I expected, I'm more than happy with sound they reproduce. I bought a sub-woofer to go with my system and I need very little extra low end because the ES90s really thump all by themselves. I've been using JBL products for years in my home and at work. The VRX Line Array and MR series monitors are what I use on stage but I won't compare these to them. The clarity of the ES90s are, I feel, best in class and price range. You would be hard pressed to find a better speaker.

I have these powered with a Halfer XL280 and Kimber 4tc. They really are a nice sounding speaker for the price. The low end is solid and they can take gobs of power without bottoming out. The base quality is very good with the Hafler. It dampens woofers better than most amps.
I have used JBL for 30 years. I lost faith in them over the last ten years. Their quality really slipped. It seems they are working on building a good speaker again. The woofer magnets appear to be very large (observed through the port), The box is very solid, heavy gauge wiring etc.
They can be a bit bright on some recordings. Over all, very happy with them.
