Even though they are designed for DJs in mind, I use them as daily headphones on the train ride to work. Since they are closed back headphones, they have good sound isolation, especially on the train. Excellent sound, I prefer a flat response for more accurate playback. Bass is loud and tight, not boosted and distorted like others as Dr Dre Beats. If you like more bass, just add more on the EQ settings. It has low resistance, 38ohms that works well with iPods, handles more power than a ipod can deliver 1700mw, and loud 100dB where you can feel. I use them on a 1st Gen iPod Nano with about 3hours playback at 80-90%loudness. Also a comparable headphone that I was deciding on the Denon DN-HP700 was the Audio-Technica ATH-M50, which is a more popular set of cans. I don't care about what is popular, but you can't go wrong with either one. Both are cheaper than the Beats and a lot better buy. Buy these if you want to hear the music the way they were meant to be heard.

Don't let the price fool you. These headphones are some of the best I've ever owned. At only $ some may wonder if the quality is up to par with other professional headphones. Well, rest assured that these headphones are a great sounding alternative to some of the more expensive headphones on the market.

Comments about Denon DN-HP700 Professional DJ Headphones:
I use these hooked up to my computer for listening to music while working late w/out bothering housemates / the gf. Sometimes little video gaming.
The sound is very good; night and day different from the cheap no-names I had before. Classical, electronic, dance, j-pop and folk all sound fine to me with these. Voices and instruments are clear, bass gets as "boomy" as you'd like if you have a bass boost switch on your setup. I also love the cord, as I tend to scoot my chair around and it never snags or gets in the way.
Only minus: They are not especially comfortable for long (>2hrs?) or when it's hot -- the ear pads get sweaty and kind of uncomfortable. Good news is, you can replace the ear pads w/ soft velour ones; models made for the MDR-V700 or XD-53 fit just fine; search the web and you'll find them in different colors. No complaints after this small change.

The Denon DN-HP700 continue to impress me. They have replaced my trustee Beyerdynamic DT1350 at work in favor to a more FUN signature. They do not have a FLAT FR but even with the accentuate BASS the forwardness of the MID and the crisp and clear HIGH just make it work. The presentation in general is very good too. They have a good soundstage for a close back design and imaging and instruments locating is very good too.The comfort is acceptable and I can wear them for an hour without discomfort. Velour earpads would be an improvement but might affect the FR. The level of isolation is very good and they do not leak sound.I highly recommend them if you are looking for a good sounding and FUN headhpone. They are good with any genre of music and will make you foot tapping!

One of the best headphones I have tried! Never going back to those over rated ones...
Worth every buck even more. .
The feel of this product is very sturdy! Sound Quality is really nice. Cancel quite a good amount of ambient sound considering this is circumaural.
If you are in a budget or not even, but want something worth your money and something that would last enjoying, you have to buy this. If you own one, and want to try this? Don't hesitate and buy at B&H... Good service, fast shipping! Love this store!

Comments about Denon DN-HP700 Professional DJ Headphones:
I came across a review stating that the DN-HP700s were similar in sound to the Denon AH-D7000s. I own the Denon AH-D2000s and was hoping to get an idea of what the D7ks sound like while reducing expenses. The sound coming from the HP700s is very impressive. But because I own the D2ks, I was disappointed in the subbbass response. The soundstage also seemed contained and restricted (probably because I couldn't get the right fit). Speaking of fit. I also had a problem with comfort. Though they are supposed to be circumaural (around ear), the fit more like something in between circumaural and supra-aural.
Bottom line. if you're not a fan (or big one) of subbass, and your ears are small enough, the sound coming out of these headphones are fantastic. especially for the price paid.

I bought these to accompany a Blue Yeti I purchased as I do a bit of amateur recording. After extensive research I decided on a price point, some features I really wanted and read reviews. It came down to these or the the ATH-M50's. From what I read and the features they had they're seem to be pretty similar in performance, which says a lot considering the wide spread praise of the M50's. Bottom line was, I'd had Denon audio before and the HP700's were [$]cheaper. I'm no serious audio critique But I really like the sound the Denons put out. They're clear, and never seem uneven in the sound. Great mid's and a Punchy precise bass that never seems overbearing. The fold away neatly for storage, fit great on your head, are fully sealed from headphone leakage and outside noise entering. Great build quality, and most importantly they look great. From the research I did and from listening and using these phones over about 3 weeks. These were the best headphones I could get for that price. Very happy with my purchase.Only negatives I could really come up with were, that I would of like to have a fully removable cord and maybe that after extended use over more than 2 hours, they become a tad hot around the ears. But removing them for 60 seconds solves this.

I've used Sony and Pioneer offerings prior to using these Denons, and I'd have to say when it comes to overall value, the Denons are my pick. Where they excell is in the mid-range. If you have a pair of cans with too much bass it messes you up when you're trying to queue up a song and synch the vocals, etc. Overall I'm impressed with the build quality, it's about the same or better than Sonys that cost significantly more. They should hold up for a long time, we will see.

Comments about Denon DN-HP700 Professional DJ Headphones:
I bought the predecessor to these headphones, the DN-HP1000. Very sharp looking and great quality sound. I've had them for about five years, the only downside is that where the adjustable headband connects to the ear casings it is plastic. After about five years of normal use (on airplanes and in a home studio) the plastic broke and the headphones are now useless (unless you hold them up to your ears). I really enjoyed these and am debating on whether to buy another pair or whether to try to find something even more sturdy perhaps with real leather. Also notice that the faux leather pads around the ear start wearing after approximately a year.

I bought this mainly to use at work and I am absolutely astounded. ATH-M50/s is REALLY good but this is also REALLY good.
Midtones sound a lot more accurate (to me at least), although ATH-M50s sounds more pleasing for long-term sessions.
Highs and lows are about the same... bass is about right. The volume at max isn't loud as ATH-M50s I feel like.
