The Sto-Fen OM-MZ80 Omni-Bounce creates a diffused bare bulb effect, giving even coverage across the entire frame, with lenses from 15mm to 200mm in the 35mm format (and equal in other formats as well). The Omni-Bounce is easy to use and goes onto and off the flash in seconds with custom fitting and no touch fastener.
Designed for years of service without the bulk of some other diffusers, it is small enough to fit easily into a gadget bag or pocket.

Unlike my Sto-Fen for the Metz AF 54 MZ-4, this one does not seem to fit well on the 58. It's a bit of a struggle to get it on straight for some reason.
In fact, the version for the 54 fits a bit more easily on the 58 than the 58-specific version.
Once on, all is good. I generally prefer the Mila-Grid but I use the Sto-Fen when I don't want to muck around with digging the larger unit out and mounting it.

Comments about Sto-Fen OM-MZ80 Omni-Bounce for Metz 48 & 58 Series:
Works as advertised. I use it in my octabox and softboxes quite often for a more even light. Costs a bit much but it was worth it for me. Fits the flash quite snugly. Will not fit if you have Velcro all the way around the flash head.

i always tot i could manage to use a flash without buying additional diffuser.
but this prove me wrong. it evens out the lights making it fall nicely on the subjects.
use on Metz 50 AF-1 Pentax. Fits Nicely.

Comments about Sto-Fen OM-MZ80 Omni-Bounce for Metz 48 & 58 Series:
Does the job. it diffuses the light nicely for bouncing. Only downside is that it's a little bit tight. At least it doesn't fall. I use it with a Metz 50 af-1 flash.

I have spent a lot of time looking for a diffuser to match my Metz 50 AF-1 flashlight. This one has the perfect, tight fit for the flash I have and I am very pleased to the results with my shots.

Comments about Sto-Fen OM-MZ80 Omni-Bounce for Metz 48 & 58 Series:
I bought this for my Metz 50 AF-1 and sure it is snug but it should be. I don't want this thing to fall off. It also covers the top of the flash enough that it will not pop-off easily. You have to firmly (but not too firmly) pull on it to get it off.
The built in diffuser for the 50 AF-1 was meant for wide angle shots and I just think this bounce diffuse is a better all-purpose diffuser than the built in one.

Comments about Sto-Fen OM-MZ80 Omni-Bounce for Metz 48 & 58 Series:
I used this product on a Metz 58 af-1, unfortunately on my first trip using this on my flash I was climbing in a cave taking shots and the Omni-Bounce popped off and was gone forever several hundred feet down a pit. I had really pushed at the beginning to put the Omni-Bounce on, but obviously this was not enough. Could be a great product, but you might look for an alternate way to secure this to your flash.

Comments about Sto-Fen OM-MZ80 Omni-Bounce for Metz 48 & 58 Series:
Good item to have in photo bag. Not Ideal for every flash photography situation, but small, light and inexpensive, and does decent job of softening light. Fit is a little tight but loosens up after a while. Also keep on my flash for added protection for flash head when in camera bag.

This is a very nice and inexpensive diffuser for the flash. It really softens the harsh flash nicely and gives a very pleasant skin tone. Just keep in mind that it decreases the flash distance by half.

nice inexpensive all purpose diffusion device.
I have one for all my flashes and the output is
much nicer than direct flash which to me is much too harsh

Simple and practical. Once positioned on the flash head, you can do all sorts of movements without risking a fall. Fulfills its function to soften the additional lighting.

Shot a wedding in a VERY dark location, and this bounce provided the perfect light. No one was washed out, and for the price you can't beat it!
