Comments about Equinox HD6 Underwater Housing for Canon HV40, HV30 and HV20:

Screwing the plate on which the camera rests in the housing into the housing wall is ridiculously difficult. Especially on a moving boat.

Comments about Equinox HD6 Underwater Housing for Canon HV40, HV30 and HV20:

It sits right in front of you as you dive, no effort to hold and point.Connecting batteries to it for lights makes it negative.Good sturdy water-tight piece of equipment. Simple to operate, and comes with a nice little wide angle lens that screws onto your camera, and you can use it topside too.You CAN't set white balance once the camera is in the housing, so a little experimenting with the settings will find the right color balance. Set and you are committed! You could pick a color card and white balance the camera before putting the back on the housing.Red filter works well at depth, and you should keep it on the housing in the water, don't take it off as the disc can float away....I'm getting a little vignette (small semi-circle shadow) in the far right of the frame which I'm trying to solve, but currently editing out in my films. It's rather large for such a small camera, so travel with it is not so simple, but the heavy stuff comes off it and can go in your 'computer case with your reg and mask, and pack the body in larger hand luggage or suitcase if you really must.Competition is by Ikelite. Haven't tried it, so look into it first.Pete Bucknellhow2scuba[@]

Comments about Equinox HD6 Underwater Housing for Canon HV40, HV30 and HV20:

Buying the housing as part of the kit is the best bang for your buck. I was out two weeks later making videos. Both times I have used it so far I have had no problems however I would recommend if you have the cash on hand to buy the LCD extension. I have been roughing it with just the view finder and it is possible, but a pain to press your mask up against the plastic to make sure you are recording. Overall Satisfied.

I've been using this now for capturing spearfishing action. Also I've been filming a scuba-interview video for my good Greek friend. Its really easy to use and very stable at the water, though housing is a bit heavy at the surface to handle, but it gives only more Pro-like look for you.. ;) I'm very pleased for this product!
