Such a simple solution to my problems. I would have trouble seeing in the bright sun. The HoodEye blocks the light and provides a cushion to press against. An added result is that when I'm out in the wind now I no longer experience the "tunneling" effect that blew the wind into my eye causing it to water so much I could not see out of it. My viewing eye is totally protected from the wind now. So much more comfortable while shooting.
It does interfere with the articulated screen on my Canon 60-D BUT, in a very limited way. While in use I just shoot and leave it open so it's not a problem. I easily hold the bottom of the HoodEye back and close the screen when I'm done.

Did not find the hoodeye too large with Canon Rebel T1i. Made viewfinder use and manual focusing easier, especially in bright light. A good choice, happy with purchase.

on which way you put it on first. and its not easy to get off and on but if you have a rebel camera it seems like its be a great thing to have.

Comments about Hoodman HoodEye for Select Canon EOS Cameras:
So much comfort. And my nose is far less squished against the LCD. Does not reduce magnification like EP-EX15 II Eyepiece Extender.
It fit my 20D. Secure attachment, unlike the standard eyepiece that came with the camera.

Rebel T2i. Easy to install -not too intimidating for those unfamiliar. After install it does block a little bit of the Display but not as bad as I thought it would -still can easily see the display and have access to all the buttons. Configured to shoot with left eye, switched to right eye and still can see display and have access to all the buttons. Blocks all light, comfortable and amazing difference it has made with shooting clearly.

Doesn't fit well with Canon T3i prohibits you from using the flip out screen. There are better projects that are less of a hinderance. I returned this item.

Comfortable. Resticts all extraneous light. I am now able to see readings in viewfinder when sun or bright light is reaching my eye from above or periphery.

This has to be one of my favorite accessories on my camera. No longer do i have to cover the top of the camera when it's bright outside!
Fit's nicely around the eye socket for me.
Although i usually hold the camera at an angle. You have to get the camera pretty flat against your face to really block all light out.
Overall, it works very well. It's super easy to install. Just slide the old one up and slide the new one down on!
Yes, it also does cover part of the screen, but if you really want to. Just trim some of the rubber on the bottom. I'm sure it won't affect the performance much at all. Worth a shot?

The stock eyecover kept sliding off and I finally lost in on the beach somewhere. Instead of buying another stock I chose the hoodeye and I haven't looked back. Fits snugly and I won't be losing it anytime soon. Reviewers complaining about the installation process being tricky but I had it on in less than 20 seconds.

Comments about Hoodman HoodEye for Select Canon EOS Cameras:
I bought the HoodEye for my Canon 30D. This eyecup helps reduce ambient light while looking through the viewfinder. It's actually more comfortable to use than the standard eyecup that comes installed on the camera.
As mentioned in previous reviews, it can obstruct a portion of the rear LCD screen. This hasn't been an issue because it's made of soft rubber and can easily be pushed up and out of the way.
The eyecup mounts firmly in place and can easily be turned in any direction when switching from landscape to portrait orientation. I have no intentions of removing this from my camera and going back to the factory eyecup.
One thing to note is that when my battery grip is installed and I put the body in my camera bag (Tenba Shootout backpack, medium) the eyecup sits higher than the body, but is flexible enough to be pushed down when I zip the bag closed.
I would recommend this to friends and would buy this product again.

Comments about Hoodman HoodEye for Select Canon EOS Cameras:
The HoodEye was very easy to install and was certainly affordable enough. I shoot mostly nature scenes with landscapes and wildlife, so the HoodEye has been great for blocking out unwanted sunlight outdoors. I also love that I don't have to contort mash my nose up against the LCD screen quite so much to get a clear look out of the view finder. The HoodEye does block a little bit of the LCD screen, but it hasn't bothered me. My only complaint is that the rubber eyepiece doesn't turn quite as quickly/smoothly as I would have liked when changing camera angles. Perhaps this is just because it is still new. Otherwise, a great product!

Comments about Hoodman HoodEye for Select Canon EOS Cameras:
I added this little gadget to my Canon 40D to help block out extraneous light when shooting outdoors. It does its job quite well. Sticks out a little farther than the stock eyepiece though, but it gives me a bit more clearance...a good thing when my face is stuck to the back of the camera for hours at a time. Also the rubber surround is easily rotated to accomodate vertical or horizontal shooting.
With its larger diameter it does overlap a small part of the LCD, but not enough to be distracting to me. It has proven to be a handy gadget indeed.

I purchased the Eye hood because of Sunlight glare and other light distractions. I am and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to attach and I was able to immediately see the benefits. The eye piece closes around the eye and helps you to focus on your subject. I would recommend it Highly.
As for Con's: I don't have any.
