Broke mine before my first shot! The stupid thing should be made out of steel, not brass. The 1/4 inch threaded stud just snapped right off. You just don't put a 1/4 inch stud on a 3/4 inch barrel, made from brass, and expect it to not snap. Why did I buy this [*] ? Why does every Manfrotto product I own wind up breaking or losing pieces?

Bought the longer 3/8" stud by accident. This short works great to connect my Manfrotto ball head to the Manfrotto super clamp. It makes a secure connection.

It does its job so what can you say? I don't know but they've been making these things for years. Heretofore, I personally have't had an application, but now that I do it can definitely be said that this item works as specified.

As simple as it gets, it's an adapter that can be used in as many creative setups as one can come up with. Solid brass construction so should last a long time.

Comments about Manfrotto 037 Reversible Short Stud, with 3/8" & 1/4"-20 Threads (Brass):
Thank g*d for Manfrotto.
They still make gear that is built to perform and last forever. All of their fittings are no exception. I still have fitting from the mid 1980's that get used every day. Well, just about everyday. There are somedays, like yesterday, when I sat behind the computer all day and didn't use the fittings. So, just about everyday.
Either way, they are quality.

I use this on a Manfrotto Superclamp to attach the 3/8" threads to my tripod head. From there I can attach my camera to a boom arm, a railing, etc. and have full pan and tilt adjustments.

Comments about Manfrotto 037 Reversible Short Stud, with 3/8" & 1/4"-20 Threads (Brass):
I would give it zero stars if I could.
The 1/4" part broke while screwing it into a manfrotto superclamp. Excellent luck that it didn't break with my camera mounted on. The thread part is logged in my superclamp thus rendering the clamp useless as well.
I use it for timelapses, it it would have broken during a timelapse it would have dropped a camera & lens on 20 feet on the heads of 9 year old kids, 100% certainty of killing a kid.
Read again: I would have been responsible for the death of an 9 years old kid!
Beyond worthless, it is criminal.

Good bit, but be sure it fits in your item before you buy it. The thick collar between the stud and the threaded parts is wide and I had to shave it down to get it to fit in the Photoflex mount.
