Comments about Manfrotto 186 Female Threaded 3/8" to Male 5/8" Stud Adapter - 50mm Long:
Unfortunately we should not buy this genre of part if certain accessories were totally compatible. It is not the case, thus fortunately that there are these adapters.

Comments about Manfrotto 186 Female Threaded 3/8" to Male 5/8" Stud Adapter - 50mm Long:
Needed a 5/8 stud to mount my lights on a Photogenics rail system. Perfect solution. Used some loctite to make sure they don't unthread as the lights are moving around.

Comments about Manfrotto 186 Female Threaded 3/8" to Male 5/8" Stud Adapter - 50mm Long:
I am a novice when it comes to lighting and back drops. I purchased 2 of these adapters to be able to mount a back drop bar on a wall. The male end of the adapter was a little to large for the bar holes. I had to have them lathed just a tad. they work great now.

I use a no longer needed as a tripod heavy-duty Manfrotto tripod equipped with Manfrotto boom and counter-weight to hold a White-Lightning X1600 monolight equipped with a modified snoot to light my backgrounds for table-top product photography.
The top of the Manfrotto tripod (Did I mention that the tripod rides on a heavy duty dolly?) has a standard 3/8" threaded male stud. The above mentioned 'Female Threaded 3/8" to Male 5/8" Stud Adapter' allows me to safely secure light and boom to the tripod.
