Manfrotto 015 Female 3/8" to Male 1/4"-20 Adapter

The video rig I had purchased noted that it had a 3/8" threaded screw instead of the standard 1/4"-20 threaded screw -- no biggie. I ordered this adapter and all was good. BUT it also served an additional purpose that came in handy. I ordered a matte box to go along with the video rig setup and I needed the camera to be a little bit higher to fit the lenses where they were in the center of the matte box instead of at the bottom since the matte box couldn't adjust anymore lower than I had it -- this adapter helped to lift up the camera to accomplish that; problem solved!

I used the adapter to attach a small camera to a microphone stand during a recording session. This was a perfect solution for me because I didn't feel like carrying my tripod. I don't recommend it over a tripod but it will certainly stand in as a solid quick fix if you find yourself in a similar situation. It's small so it's not a hassle to have it handy just in case.

It works :-) . Needed to adapt table-top tripods to small ball-heads I owned. Done. I use the tripods and heads to hold and position LED panels (small ones).Thanks for B&H for stocking these useful small parts.

I have to use these on four of my light stands that should have come with 1/4" threads in the first place. I lose them occasionally. A little pricey for what they are. Should be three for $ rather than each.

It is very strong product.

I purchased this adapter to mount my flash on a tripod that was equipped with only a 3/8" male mounting screw. My flash required a 1/4" male mounting screw. The adapter worked perfectly. It is high quality and substantial - easy to find in my camera bag. I would recommend this product without hesitation.

They still make gear that is built to perform and last forever. All of their fittings are no exception. I still have fitting from the mid 1980's that get used every day. Well, just about everyday. There are somedays, like yesterday, when I sat behind the computer all day and didn't use the fittings. So, just about everyday.

Either way, they are quality.

These little guys are a crucial part of my strobist setup so when the thread strips or breaks off it is very handy to have a spare close by.

If you're shopping for this, you already know why you need it. Excellent way to convert a 3/8" lightstand thread to a 1/4". Inexpensive, solid brass, will last a lifetime.
