I thought I might use this to steady my camera while on vacation sightseeing and just mount the camera and carry it, but I didn't think about having a ball head so I could turn the camera. Anyway, it's not recommended to carry the camera on it. Perhaps I'll buy a more expensive one with a ball head mount.

Comments about Manfrotto 681B 3 Section Monopod (Black) - Supports 26.5 lb (12kg):
I bought this mono-pod when I purchased a 100-400mm Canon lens. The mono-pod is big and sturdy which is perfect for such a heavy lens. Even though the mono-pod is beefy it is still easy to carry around. Its a bit on the heavy said but retracts into a very portable size.

Just received mine today. It's stronger and more robust than I imagined. Heavy duty but not heavy weight. For less than $[$] it's money well spent! Buy it with the Manfrotto 234 swivel/tilt head, a perfect combination.

Comments about Manfrotto 681B 3 Section Monopod (Black) - Supports 26.5 lb (12kg):
I use this monopod to support a Canon 60D with a 600mm lens. It is built like a brick house and opens quickly since it has only three sections. The unique mount allows you to switch between cameras and lens mounts without changing any hardware. This is no lightweight to be packed up in your back pack. It is a strong and sturdy monopod meant to support some serious weight. I borrowed this monopod from a friend then bought one myself. I showed it to another friend who then bought one for himself. It's a great product.

I plan to use this monopod to shoot outdoor wild life scenes. Its rugged design and height are the two features that led me to choose this model.
I wasn't disappointed when I rec'd it on delivery. It's very study and with my camera mounted is the perfect height.

There is really not a whole lot to say about a monopod :)...This particular monopod is sturdy and weight is mid point ( not light not heavy). It works for what it is. A Tripod is still more reliable for steady video shots but the monopod helps for certain circumstances....

Bought this monopod to hold my 400 f/2.8 and 600 f/4, and occasionally use it as a pole to do aerial type shots. It's strong and sturdy. If only it could collapse to a smaller size.

A big, solid, reliable device!
This will be under my Canon 70-200/2.8 for all sorts of events this year.
The flip-lock levers clamp the legs like crazy - no slippage and no worries about collapsing.
The camera-mount screw-thread is a double-insert with both the 3/8 and 1/4-20, so you can use this stick with any camera or head. This is a very smart design.

Impressed with the quality of construction of this monopod, especially at this price. I like the clips that lock the telescopic extensions - my previous monopod used collars that twisted and needed 2 hands. I also like the ingenious threaded connector that connects the monopod to the camera/lens. Having 2 sizes of threads (one inside the other) eliminates the need to carry an adapter. Overall, this is a sturdy monopod that works well in sports and dusk photography.
