A tripod head is required and not included with these legs. Be sure you purchase a tripod head to attach to your camera.
The Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs follows in the footsteps of the highly popular and award winning 190X series, but has now been further improved with the use of carbon fiber tubing for its legs. Thanks to innovative production techniques - which allow for high quality 100% carbon tube structures - the 190CX guarantees a higher load capacity and an increased height with a lighter overall weight (-20%) thanks to a completely new design, which allowed to lighten the components.
The 190CXPRO4 is a 4-leg section tripod, with a center column design that allows it to be used in either vertical or horizontal position. By extending the column to its highest vertical position, the column can be swung over to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself.
The 190CXPRO4 also features several other improvements, such as an improved leg locking system, redesigned angle adjustment levers, and a levelling bubble that is incorporated into the head plate.

My budget was about $500 for a new set of legs and a ball head. My heaviest setup is the 40D with the 70-200 2.8 IS, about 5.25 lbs altogether. I was looking for portability as opposed to a studio rig, so the usual requirements of light weight and the shortest possible folded length were my main concerns.[$] I recommend this setup for travel, as the sticks fold down to under 20" - and the lightweight carbon fiber is easy to carry all day. The only downside to these legs are the feet - you're stuck with the feet as is; there are no spikes available for this model. That's why I rated it 4 stars instead of 5.The day after I bought it I put the legs and the head easily inside a small roller cart, which fit in the overhead compartment on my flight. Later that day I had this setup on a beach (in the salt water) and in a muddy marsh. Both times I simply wiped it down with clean water and let the sun dry it - no harm resulted, to the finish, the sliding action of the legs, etc.The center column is a nice feature. Of course this isn't the best way to shoot portrait, but it works well enough if you don't have an "L" bracket. If you need lightweight carbon fiber sticks, and your budget is similar to mine, these legs are a great deal. Also, you really can't go wrong buying from B&H. Check out their return policy and compare; although I've never needed to return anything, it's nice to know they put the customer's satisfaction first.

It is lightweight and stable. However, two of the three rubber feet have fallen off. Without the feet, the bottom legs are stuck inside the other legs, rendering the tripod useless.

Comments about Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (Black):
Having left photography for ten years, I bought a good camera recently and I wanted a light and sturdy tripod to replace one I had for twenty years (bought in a general store for cheap) . After reading many reviews, I dropped my choices on carbon tripod 4 sections. I wanted lightweight and portable (attached to my backpack). This is ideal. I am very satisfied so far. It is well made, it unfolds and folds quickly and has very handy features (central column pivoting, etc.).. It is true that, very light, it tends to reverse in high winds, but there is a small hook on the side and can be ballasted with our backpack. This makes it more stable.

Comments about Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (Black):
This tripod replaces my old 190XPro which was much heavier. I still have all the functionality while saving a lot of weight. I especially appreciate that I still have center column flexibility to go horizontal and as well as nearly flat. It also breaks down to a smaller profile, so for traveling it will replace my somewhat flimsy travel tripod.

High quality product. Fits well with Manfrotto 054 ball head with Q2 quick release. Why would you not want a solid tripod for an expensive DSLR camera. The price is worth one's peace of mind.

Comments about Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (Black):
I need another tripod that I could use for those situations that require very minimual gear, but durable and quality gear. I primarily shoot landscapes and often have extreme conditions and hikes that force me to leave my larger Manfrottos at home. This tripod meet my needs exactly. It collapses into a very small footprint thats just under 24" with a Manfrotto ballhead attached. Its just north of 3.5 lbs with the head and a sling. Now I can get the platform I need in the most daunting of places so my shots aren't compromised.

A good friend of mine that has been a professional photographer recommended this tripod to me. I wasn't wanting to spend this much on a tripod but he insisted that it was worth it. He was right, I love it! It's extremely light weight and a very high quality product. It's very sturdy and folds up very small. I couldn't be happier!

Comments about Manfrotto 190CXPRO4 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (Black):
I got this over the 3-section version 190CXPro3 due to it's shorter length when collapse. I understand the 3-section probably will be a better option for others due to the stability, so consider that when you buy this.
I wanted a more compact option so I chose this version. It's built tough and mean. The legs extend nicely but the quick release is not always so smooth.
I pair this with a Markins Q3 ball head and it's been a fine workhorse when I'm hiking - light and stable.

Compact, Lightweight but strong. nothing else to say. The best pro tripod. Folds Small. I like this 4 section Tripod, it has good stability, as well as the 3 section tripod. With the 054 Magnesium Ball Head it is the best Tripod.

I do a lot of hiking to photograph landscapes and hidden lakes and creeks. Much of this work requires a tripod. Carbon Fiber is light enough to carry with the optional carry strap great distances.
