Comments about Macally ICEKEY2 USB Keyboard:

I ordered a couple of these keyboards to replace broken Apple keyboards in the computer lab I maintain at work (a University). We clean the keyboards really often and this causes the Apple ones to fail -- I am hoping the design of this keyboard will make that less likely to happen since the keys and casing are constructed differently than Apple keyboards and seem less likely to malfunction due to moisture from cleaning products penetrating past the keys and frying the circuits. Too soon to tell on that one.

The overall feeling is good and I like typing on it and it's easy to type accurately on, right off the bat (I am using one at my desk to test it out before buying more for the lab.) It feels sturdy and it is markedly larger than an Apple keyboard.

The cons so far for me:
          • Slightly different key placement than Apple keyboards--FN key in different location, different shortcuts on the F keys, etc. Just takes time to adjust to.
          • Caps lock light is at top right of keyboard, which is often obscured due to the keyboard tray I use at my workstation (constant pulling out to see if caps lock is on)
          • I am having trouble getting the F keys to work properly, along with the shortcut on F9 and F12 to manipulate the windows/bring up the dashboard, features upon which I rely heavily. I searched online for a solution and got overwhelmed by information and solutions that weren't working for me. It seems like it should be a simple solution within System Preferences but the buttons still don't work. For the computer lab I am not as worried about this functionality, but in my experience, it is frustrating.

It is definitely not a deadwringer for an Apple keyboard, but it's a pretty nice take on the same functionality.

Comments about Macally ICEKEY2 USB Keyboard:

Liked the keyboard feel overall, but a few fatal flaws.

Intermittently, it stops responding, I've to shake it a bit and it'll start working again.

Fn key is stuck on, has to hold down to press regular Fn keys, otherwise you are pressing the special fn keys by default. (Not sure if this is windows specific)

Read a bunch of complaints about this keyboard, and I thought people are overly picky, but I experienced this keyboard that has obvious circuitry design or qc issue.
