The Tenba Shootout Backpack, Medium (Black) is a padded weather-resistant ripstop nylon backpack made to carry a two digital SLR six lens camera outfit and a 15" laptop computer or 17" Mac PC. It has a padded dividable main section for photo equipment and a removable padded, frame sheet reinforced laptop compartment for a laptop computer. There is a fully adjustable harness/belt system, a waist belt that features multiple clip-on points for pouches and accessories plus hand carrying straps on top of the pack and on both sides to let you "grab and go" from any position.
The Shootout backpack has padded side pockets that feature interior panels that can be moved to convert the space from cargo pocket to QuickAccess interior hatches. This allows fast, easy retrieval of a lens or accessory without having to fully remove or open the entire pack. There are interior clear, plasticized mesh pockets and web loops to hold accessories plus a media wallet and phone/music pouch.
The backpack also features a MSTC (Multi-Stage Tripod Carrying) system which adjusts to securely and optimally carry tripods of varying sizes and styles. A fast deploying WeatherWrap auxiliary protection cover fully encloses the entire harness for hand carrying or storage.

First off, this bag is extremely comfortable. I ride a motorcycle and the waist straps are a plus for long rides. The resilience to light to moderate rain is great, and has nice rubber guard zippers so no leaks. Bungee on the front is great for carrying just about anything. Fully customizable. I was suprised how well its made and high quality materials. No cons. Worth the money.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Medium (Black):
After seeing nearly every bag on the market that would meet my requirements of fitting both my 17" laptop and a lot of camera gear for travelling, I landed on this bag. It does not disappoint in terms of quality of construction, or features. Lots of room, great padding, and very, very well-thought out in terms of ability to customize inside, attach a large tripod, and be weather resistant. It is VERY heavy for a backpack but the weight does not bother me. However, the large size is definitely an issue for commuter planes. This will NOT fit under the seat or in the overhead bin of a small commuter plane. Also, it is not that easy to quickly access equipment in this bag. The zippers are a bit sticky (not a bad thing for theft prevention) and there is no easy way to reach behind and get into it. But that is not what I purchased this bag for - I just wanted something that would transport my gear safely while in transit. For walking around, I have a smaller bag that packs easily into this one. Given my purposes - this is one of the best bags I have ever laid my hands on, and I highly recommend it.

I did a lot of shopping before deciding on this bag. Not at all disappointed in the construction, layout or looks. Even my wife liked it! It is very comfortable to wear. i will be trekking through the North West in 2 weeks and will really give it a workout. I am carrying 2 long pro lenses and 2 short zooms with a Canon 40D. There is more room yet. I guess I'll need to buy more stuff!

This backpack is exactly as I expect it to be:
• Big: It fits my two SLR cameras, my laptop, my android tab, cell phone and miscellaneous (car keys etc.).
• Customizable: I've changed all divisions to exactly fit the size of my cameras, lenses, filters and flashes.
• Completely padded: It is very well padded. Not only to protect my gear but also to protect my back.
• Not something you will call light: Came on if you want it light get a point and shot camera with fixed focus. If you want SLR and lenses the you have to carry it as a turtle.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Medium (Black):
I'm a photography student in southern California and I'm always traveling with my camera. I'm really impressed with this bag's efficient use of space and it's inclement weather capability.
My first experience with this bag was in San Francisco as I was walking all over the city for hours with the bag fully loaded (tripod and all). I was very impressed with the compression straps and it's weight dispersal, although this may not be the case for everyone. If you are on the small side, it may be a bit too large for comfort, however I am considerably slender and the straps fit me snugly.
I have tested this bag in snow, sleet, rain, scorching heat, dirt, sand, humidity, and it prevails every time! The included rain jacket is a life saver, as the bag itself isn't fully waterproof as I found out on an ARMY training weekend in torrential rain at Fort Hunter Liggett. It held up very well considering I was standing in the rain for 3 hours before I thought to put the rain cover on.
On a trip to the Salton Sea, I had the loaded with 2 cameras, light meter, 2 flashes, cleaning equipment, card wallet, laptop, batteries/cables/chargers, and I still had room to keep my water bottles inside which was necessary in the 114 degree heat
In Lake Tahoe, not only did it keep my equipment dry in a snowstorm, but it was also comfortable enough to wear while skiing. I wouldn't hit a black diamond with it on, but when shooting snow sports this bag is my best friend.
I really can't say enough good things about this bag. The only issues I've ever had were the buckles to the compression straps falling off and getting lost, however I called up Tenba and they sent out new clips immediately for NO CHARGE. Great customer service!

I have always used either Lowepro or Tamrac bags, glad I tried Tenba as their quality and design is just as good as either Lowepro or Tamrac, and that says alot. The bag is very clean with no loose threads or material and the zippers seem very precise. This thing can pack a ton of gear. Lots of adjustments, very comfortable once adjusted correctly. My delema is that I would like a "daypack" to carry a 1Ds MkIII and a couple of lenses. This is the smallest pack I could find that would fit a 1Ds MkIII body due to the height of the camera (5.9") and this is a fairly large pack. It does work great for what I want, but I guess the perfect photo pack just isn't out there.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Medium (Black):
This bag is everything it claims to be and then some. I bought the medium and wonder if the small would have been a better choice. There is excellent padding and layout inside the bag. The construction is superior but the bag can be a little bit bulky. Don't think you are buying a day pack. You can fit quite a bit of equipment in this bag. I am by no means disappointed, just forewarning.
The waist strap can be removed, if necessary, but if you are going to be out all day or hiking with the bag you will want to leave it on. I fit a proDSLR, large flash, and 4-5 lenses, with no problem. You won't go wrong with the Tenba Shootout Backpack.

I shoot off road motorcycle races, so it's going to get beaten around a bit. Here's a list of stuff that goes with me in the bushes. It's about 35lbs packed.
I carry:
main and spare bodies
70-200L, 16-35L, 17-50 backup
3 speedlites and triggers
2 light stands (in tripod spot)
24-32 AA batteries
cards, cables, food&water
The straps work well and with carabiners attached, it's easy to get things where you want them. My only complaint would be that it appears that the cover for the straps could have been designed so that when you hide/tuck it, the zippers don't just hang out at the bottom corners.

My other sling bag was getting small so I decided to upgrade to a bigger pack. I did a lot of research before deciding on this bag and I wasn't disappointed. This backpack has plenty of storage for all of your large equipment plus it provides a nice weather resistant environment. All the adjustment points make it ride nice on your back and the waist strap even fits a large person unlike some other backpacks I have tried. I recently took this backpack to Shizuoka Japan and used it all day long walking and taking photos and it was easy to use. My only complaint would be that it lacks some of the smaller compartments to store stuff in, I tend to carry a lot of little things with me and I like a secure compartment to store them all in. Yes it has two zippered compartments inside the flap but once they are full (and it didn't take long for me) there is no where else to put the stuff. But I still love this backpack; I will just have to consolidate my stuff.

Perfect backpack to carry two camera bodies, macro, tele, and wide zoom lenses, macbook pro, card readers, power supplies, batter chargers, tripod, and the like. I LOVE this backpack. I'm a student and I have a ton of gear with me all the time. I consolidated almost all my gear from two backpacks into this one. I do a lot of hiking (urban and trail) and it is durable enough that I don't have to worry if I stumble, or if there is inclement weather. The tripod system is also incredibly convenient for me.
This pack may not be for everyone. It is VERY large and can be heavy when fully loaded. Not a problem for someone like myself, but could easily be a problem for people without much upper body strength

This is a great pack if you have a lot of big gear (multiple camera bodies and lenses) but not too great if you are petite. The zipper seams are sealed which is terrific for rainy, windy, sandy conditions. Lots of surprises in the pack too- tethered holders for cell phone and CF cards. Great quality overall, I bought the Small to fit me better. I wish there was a water bottle holder on the side and more separate pockets for gear. A rain cover and strap cover are really nice additions too.
