Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black):

This is the second Temba Shootout I have purchased. It has a lot of space for dslr storage while still being comfortable to wear. It also has enough room to store a pro dslr (or dslr with a battery grip) with lens attached. The Tripod attachment is very easy and very secure. Over all, it is a great backpack.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black):

I have so much stuff in it: 300mm f2.8L IS USM, 70-200 f2.8L IS USM II, 24-70 f2.8L, 35mm f1/4, 24mm TS-E II, 5DM3, batter grip, filters, extenders, batteries, MacBook Pro 15", carbon-fiber tripod, and more... and it's well-balanced that I can carry all of this stuff without too much issue... then again, me picking up a 130lb lady isn't too hard for me... but both are fun -- the lady and the bag of stuff... and I'm not a big dude either. Easy access to two lenses without taking off the backpack so you can easily move around 3 lenses (one out two on the sides)... awesome idea!!! Great protection and construction. I highly recommend this awesome bag.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black):

Holds my 5D, 50D, 24-105, 70-200 II, 500 f4, flash and some other accessories. Loaded, it is pretty heavy. Unloaded, it is heavy. So either way, it is heavy (But feel better - there are other bags out there that are heavier!). Wish it had some outer front-flap pockets in addition to the inner zippered pockets, but that space is taken by the tripod holder, which works pretty good.

The waist belt seems to be a little high. Mine hits right at my stomach as opposed to my waist when the straps are adjusted to carry the bag's weight evenly on my shoulders. The bag sticks out quite a bit from your back, which is important to know if you are carrying a longer tripod for clearance purposes.

Pretty satisfied at this point. I'll learn more about it when I fly out to WY in a couple weeks and we'll see if it actually is airline compatible. I'm pretty sure it will be though.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black):

This bag is huge and heavy. It was far too large for what I need it for. I ended up returning it and getting the medium which is about 3 pounds lighter and doesn't seem to be any less useful. It's very well constructed and if you need a backpack this large, it's a good choice.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black):

Huge, carries a large amount of gear, well constructed, zippers seal up great, great way to organize all your equipment. However, because it is so large, its tough to haul around everyday, the only techical drawback, is that the shoulder straps don't have sewn in loops on the end to keep the strap from peeling out of the buckle, sometimes when trying to loosen the straps they will come completey undone and the bag falls to the floor.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black):

i love this bag, i use it for my Nikon D3 and my D300 and it holds several flashes and lenses as well. the options such as the rain cover, the weather proof ziper, the removable insides, the cover over the straps, and alot of other options will have this recommending this to many people.

the only negative, if it can be blamed on Tenba at all, which i doubt, is that in a high condensation environment, it becomes sopping wet, but because of the material and the build quality, the condensation never gets into the camera parts. in fact, i leave the bag unzipped and just lay the lid ontop and it keeps moisture out.

Comments about Tenba Shootout Backpack, Large(Black):

This pack should have been great. My 17" Laptop fit with room to spare. My X-large lens with shade also fit perfectly. Lots of Room. I would love to own this pack. But. This is a fairly expensive pack and I found one side of the sternum strap had been sewn on pointing the wrong way and no matter what I did, the strap would always be tangled and feel constricted. I found one of the main rear dual zippers that opened the pack did not have a zipper keeper and when unzipping, one could accidentally remove the slider. How's that for a field disaster? The pack was beautifully sewn, but the strength of the thread used was insufficient and I discovered one of the shoulder straps had a row of broken stitches on arrival. I have personally sewn stunt kites made from rip-stop nylon on my mother's old sewing machine and I used heavier thread than is used in this pack. I like everything about this pack's brilliantly thought out physical design. I need a pack just like this. Except the quality of the pack I received, was sufficiently low to literally render the pack useless. [...]
