This made it all happen so easy!... just like the same part with the 1/4-20 Camera Thread this allows you to easily adapt a Fluid Video Head atop an existing Tripod Head for Quick and solid secure loack and release. Much faster than unbolting the main camera head to use the Video Head Solo!

Comments about Manfrotto 130-38 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate (Flat Bottomed) with 3/8" Screw:
I appeared to lose the original mounting plate, a small but important item. No sooner had the replacement arrived, and my wife found the original. The replacement isn't as functional as the original, but it works well enough.
The original has a thumbscrew that can be finger tightened into the base of the camera. The replacement requires a coin or a screwdriver to securely tighten it to the camera base. Cold fingers tighten a thumbscrew better than cold fingers holding a coin or with a gloved hand.
While the replacement functions correctly, it isn't as nice as the original. I recommend having a replacement plate for a back up considering the nominal cost, and the nuisance caused by its absence.
I would rate the replacement as a 3 1/2, but the rating system doesn't allow this.
