I am a videographer and use these for interviews. These have been great for me. They are lightweight and give out plenty of light for an interview. Comes with nice white umbrellas that pop right into the light, which clients like a lot better than diffusion clothes-pinned to barn doors. Highly recommend for basic interview set ups. I've also used for lighting miniatures and animation paper - worked great. Have only had for a few weeks so can't comment on the durability, but at this price I'd be happy to just keep replacing them when needed. They also do not get dangerously hot; no one will get burned if they accidentally touch it.

I used these lights on an indie short I shot a few weeks back. They have consistent output between units, but there are some build quality issues.
The housing is plastic, and has a tendency to melt especially if you are bolting these to plates and mounting from the ceiling as we did.
The switch is on the light unit itself rather than inline like most professional lights.
The barn doors are built in, and cannot be removed with the stock setup. There is also a large gap between the barn doors and the unit, meaning to fully control the light you need to wrap it in cinefoil, adding to the head problem. Without the black wrap you can get some strange light spill from around the gap.
All in all, they do the job. They project light to an adequate degree. The bulbs never burned out and the wiring seems solid. I would not recommend this to a careless or a fast moving set, as repairs would be difficult. The plastic build quality is a concern for heat, but will hold for shorter durations or normal set-ups.

I used these guys for freelance projects and interviews. Plus I will be using them for short films. They work great and for a independent guy like me they are very easy to afford and turn work from a rookie to a professional look.

nice lights but the housing is plastic and i'm expecting the housing or the gears on the neck to break\strip in a year. i hope i'm wrong. the housing does stay a reasonable temperature when running, even when pointed down. nice for a quick flight pack kit but have the extra padding when traveling. my order came with an extra bulb and 2 fuse each.

Comments about Impact Qualite 300 Focusing Flood Light - 300 Watts (120VAC):
I've been working with a video studio for the last 5 years and decided to branch out and start my own company. Being that I have a limited budget to work with I had to be very selective with my purchases. Whenever I shoot a wedding I like to put up a single lamp to shine down on the dance floor. Usually lighting in these situations is very poor so the single lamp helps dramatically. Allowing for amazing shots even in the dark environments. This little light puts out a very decent amount of light. I was using 600w Arri's before in the studio I worked for, and I must say this product holds up perfectly for the mobile uses that I need of it.

I had a 5 day corporate shoot and the lights showed up the day before. So I didnt have any test time. One of the light sockets was made poorly and the light kept going out. So I had to keep messing with it. And as you know these things get really HOT. So playing with a really hot light was not a lot of fun. BUT,, When they were both working the lighting was great.

The quality of the floodlight was excellent. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that one out of 4 bulbs burned out in the first week. But, there was a spare bulb, included in the box, as well as a spare fuse. Still, it would have been nice if it lasted longer than a few days.
The cord that comes with the fixture was very long, which was a good surprise. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase.

Great Lights, much better than I thought. Quality is very durable and very easy to use. I shoot a lot of video and have purchased quite a few light kits, this one looks very professional and has good ventilation. I will probably purchase two more soon, also I contacted the manufacturer and he stated, you could use the 650 W bulb with this kit, but of course with caution.

Comments about Impact Qualite 300 Focusing Flood Light - 300 Watts (120VAC):
I recently got the Qualite 300 as part of a two-light kit (along with a separately-purchased hair light and gels) for my puppet videos.
My studio space is small (500 sq. ft.), so given my lighting needs/technique, the output of these lights works for me.
Upon taking the lights and their accessories out of their boxes, my impression was that they were surprisingly solid/well-built to the eye and touch, relative to the price. Assembly was straightforward; the lights come ready to mount, plug in and use.
[One minus was quality control: one of the lights I received did not work when plugged in. I returned the single light and was promptly sent another one--which also did not work! The third time was a charm, and I now have two functioning lights. Kudos to B&H for their quick, polite service. Perhaps someone--the manufacturer?--needs to fine-tune the product testing phase.]
The color temperature of the light is as expected--no surprises there.
These lights do get hot quickly, but that's not abnormal. Rather than observe the lights' capacity to handle their own heat, I just try to keep them off as much as possible between shots, with the added benefit that doing so saves energy. (My projects are all shorts, so I don't find it tedious to flip the lights on and off--although how they handle that "wear and tear" over time might be a point of interest.)
All in all, I'm pleased with the Qualite 300. My needs and expectations lined up with the capabilities of these lights, and in "light" of that, I find them to be an effective, high-quality product.

A powerful light and great for the price. I couldn't afford an entire kit, so I decided to start with this. It has plenty of power and competed well against the arri 600w kit I usually use. I already had light stands, so if you don't, this might not be the buy for you.
