Product Highlights
  • SDI Compatibility
  • 150' Range
  • Low Latency

The IDX CW-5HD Cam-Wave HD is a wireless transmitter and receiver designed to connect HD video cameras to either a monitor or recording device. The system produces an uncompressed signal without the need to run any pesky cables, at a range of up to 150'. The transmitter can run off 1 V-Mount series battery or function off DC power through its 4-pin XLR input. Weighing in at a little over 1.8 lbs, the CW-5HD provides premium high definition wireless support without adding additional bulk to the entire camera.

Uncompressed Wireless Signals
The CW-5HD transmits pristine video from either SD-SDI or HD-SDI, producing a completely uncompressed signal. The signal can then be fed into a field monitor, studio monitor, or recording deck. Additionally, video signals can be transmitted with 256-bit encryption, making sure there are no "prying eyes".
Instant Transmission
The CW-5HD has less than a 1ms latency between transmitting and receiving.

I use it on my steadicam rig. It is a good product and easy to mount on a steadicam. Although, it loses image signal too often.

Comments about IDX CW-5HD Cam-Wave HD Video Wireless Transmission System:

Had the opportunity to demo this unit and I was impressed, so impressed that we bought the unit.

Very easy to set up and mounts directly to our cameras with IDX battery plates. Very little configuration, pretty much just turn on and go.

Tested this in a baseball stadium. The 150' line of sight range was rock solid and we were able to go quite a bit further at times still getting a signal at 400'. Non line of sight was decent as well. Considering the price, I am OK with an occasional drop out especially now that I am free to move around. The transmission delay is also very minimal. Highly recommended.

Comments about IDX CW-5HD Cam-Wave HD Video Wireless Transmission System:

easy to use. seems to drop 1 or 2 frames of picture every 10 minutes or so.
has a great wireless reach for indoor arena. We used on steadicam and tripod camera feed for 6 hour daily live event for 6 days.
Also use a director wireless monitor feed.
          Will buy again.

Comments about IDX CW-5HD Cam-Wave HD Video Wireless Transmission System:

Short range but to manufactures spec - not rock solid and does drop frames but pretty good compared to most senders. A noticable increase in video gain when it is near it's transmission limits.
