This is a set of two Manfrotto Autopoles. These single action locking cam Autopoles mount between the floor and ceiling of a studio. If the studio ceiling is higher than 12.2' (3.7 m), Autopole bases or Autopole extensions may be ordered separately.
Autopoles support backgrounds, lights, and grip arms with the addition of Super Clamps, Hooks, and crossbars.
This replaces old catalog #2950.

I love these two masterpeice from Manfrotto. It's made in Italy, very light and do the job very easy. I bought these to install in my home basement studio and very happy with the results. The lock is smooth and tips are made of very good, sticky rubber, so once installed it won't move or swing away.

Very handy, and light weight......could be more sturdy. Expands to great heights...chains SHOULD be metal but are plastic...cheap.
All in all I would reccomend to a friend. :)

I bought these along with the Expan drive set to replace my background stands. I frequently have to take down and put up backgrounds by myself, which was getting more and more difficult and causing problems with torn and damaged paper backgrounds. It immediately proved its value by making it simple to roll down and put up backgrounds by myself. Paper stays uniform and nicely rolled without funnelling, and it's saved me enough in torn and mangled paper to more then make up for the cost. The tubes themselves are sturdy aluminium and are well made. Setup was fast and easy. A bubble level would have been nice to make sure the poles were straight up and down.

I use these as a backdrop support for canvases, muslins, and vinyl backdrops. Previously I was using the standard portable setup with the backdrop support that has tripod-style legs. I love this much more. It takes up less space both in storage and when set up. There are no legs to trip over, and if a child decides to tug on the backdrop (which has happened before), there is less chance of the whole thing toppling down on their head since the autopoles are being supported by both the floor and the ceiling rather than standing on their own.
