The Jobu Design FB-TM2 Topmount Flash Bracket is for use with standard topmount-type gimbal heads and ballheads. This bracket attaches via its spring-loaded Arca-type quick release clamp. A "double-dovetail" plate is required to connect this bracket to the head. Many of the newer mounting plates feature this double connection design (e.g. Surefoot plates, RRS, Kirk, Wimberley, etc.).
The FB-TM2 positions most flashes at approximately 12" from the center of the lens. The bracket features a rubberized grip, which provides a more comfortable place to hold the bracket while positioning.
Note! Flash shoe not compatible with Nikon SC-29 cord

Comments about Jobu Design FB-TM2 Topmount Flash Bracket with Quick Release:
I like it becasue it is secure enough I can carry the camera, lens, flash etc by holding the flash bracket. It does a great job holding the speedlight.
It would be good if the grip where I hold it was thicker which would make it easier to hold but then it would take more room in my camera bag.

good size. had to buy longer lens plate to fit it on. I use it for bird photography. it is less money than other brands and works just as well.

Comments about Jobu Design FB-TM2 Topmount Flash Bracket with Quick Release:
Works as advertised. The only issue is that I needed to purchase longer double dove-tail plates to accommodate the increased length needed to attach the lens and flash bracket to tripod head.

No complaints - simple design but it works perfectly and you can't beat the price (compared, say, to a [...]... albeit this unit has no flash rotation ability).I attach it to the [...]plate on my Nikon 500 VR: it attaches from the top of the [...]foot at a cutout at the front of the foot that is just the right size as the width of this bracket, and still the gimbal head that I place the lens on can slide forward all the way to the front of this foot, as it can fit underneath where this bracket attaches without interference!

Comments about Jobu Design FB-TM2 Topmount Flash Bracket with Quick Release:
I bought this as they say it will prevent silver eye in bird shots. They were right, it works great. It is very easy to slip on my Wimberley plate, the quick release is super. With my flash it is very strong and I know now I'll never be with out one again.

I use this to hold flash well above the a long lens on a gimbal when shooting wildlife. Works well, but I would like a folding one if it was as strong.

Comments about Jobu Design FB-TM2 Topmount Flash Bracket with Quick Release:
I purchased this bracket to compliment the nicely designed JoBu Design (JoBu) gimbal head for my longer lens when photographing wildlife. I needed to get the flash off the camera to eliminate the white-eye effect (red-eye equivalent for humans) for wildlife when using my flash with the flash extender (Better Beamer); it gives nice fill light and opens up shadow areas. It has the quick release mechanism that works with the JoBu double dovetailed lens plate; twist the knob to slip it on or off...no tools needed.. The bracket also works with Wimberly, Kirk, RRS and Surefoot double dovetailed lens plates, but at a fraction of a cost. I love it
I also use it for photographing people...handheld, which is attributed to it's light weight.
So far so good.
