This system was better than I expected! I was tired of my old photek system sagging in the middle, and the cheesy support stands slipping down do to the "self loosening" lock mechanisms.
This Photoflex system is NOTHING like the Photek. First off the stands are plenty sturdy and actually double as light stands more than capable of holding a flash head and large soft box. The locking mechanisms are solid and secure, and these stands go much higher than I will ever need! The crossbar is a very thick, telescoping rod, so no more assembling pre-sized lengths, just slide in or out to your exact width needed. The ends have wing nut locks to hold tight onto the stands. I use this to hang a custom EEFX green screen backdrop that has to be hung on 12 feet of crossbar. This Photoflex system has zero droop of the crossbar at 12 feet with this 10x12 foam backed backdrop hanging from it.
Telescoping crossbar is about 6” longer than the multi-piece systems when fully collapsed, but it all fits in the excellent carrying bag, not even close to being a deal breaker for me.
I would highly recommend this system as it has far exceeded my expectations.

Broke the first time I used it - the screw-in bolts which tighten and hold the poles up popped out of the housing, totally stripped and useless.

Comments about Photoflex Pro-Duty Backdrop Support Kit:
This is my first set of background stands. Easy to setup and move around, yet very sturdy. The crossbar is a little hard to extend, but since it doesn't lock in place, that's a probably a good thing. It took a little bit coordinated effort, but I was able to setup a 9' roll of seamless in under 10 minutes.
The one nit I have is that when unboxing one of the stands, a small curved metal plate fell out. After carefully looking around at the stand, I realized it was the pressure plate, used by the turn knob of the upper section to 'pinch' against the pole and lock it in place. It took some maneuvering, but I got it back in place and working fine.
Overall though, I'm very pleased with these stands.

These are as heavy duty as any I've used in over 20 years as a professional portrait photographer. And they go up to 12 feet, something not many do!
Don't skimp when it comes to light stands and background stands. These are pro quality. It only takes one cheap stand to fall over to ruin your shoot.

I got this last week and used it for a formal dance on Saturday...I had only taken it out of the box and put it into the bag...it set up easy and perfect on the first use...seems very sturdy, and worked great with the backdrop I also bought from BH. The bag I received with the set was a lil too short, for the backdrop poll, but other than that, I am completely satisfied.

Comments about Photoflex Pro-Duty Backdrop Support Kit:
I've purchased other stands and supports in the past and know how flimsy they can be. The Pro-Duty lives up to its name. It was sturdy and solid right out of the box. Incredibly easy to use, to put together and it really stays put. Easy up, easy down, nice and compact and yet still relatively lightweight.

The Photoflex backdrop support kit appears to be well made. I like the versitility of the kit - can extend up to 12 feet and 12 feet wide. The stands have a wide foot print to add stability with the tall heights. the telescoping support pole is easy to adjust.

I was planning on getting an inexpensive backdrop stand, but my brother, (who shall remain nameless but whose initials are ZA) exhorted me to empty my wallet on this thing. I have to admit I went kicking and screaming till I pulled it out of the box.
Wow. This thing is beefy. Feels very solid and you don't have any hesitation pushing it around and doing what you need to. I assumed all of these type stands were created equal, but this one is far superior to the cheapies I've seen and used in the past.
If you're earn anything at all with photography, bite the bullet and get a piece of gear that will last more than two or three shoots.

Did a lot of research before purchasing this stand. (this is my 1st background stand) I wanted quality for price. This product fits the bill. Love the telescoping rod/pole...easily adjusts to fit the area especially if not using a set sized backdrop/background. Wide foot base, but may want to use sand bags for added stability. I was able to put a 9' roll of paper on the stand by myself with in a few mintues. Easy to set up. Rod/pole seems stable. No obvious sag with a 9' roll of seamless paper.

I have had this system for nine months or so and it is falling apart. I have used it perhaps eight times in the last nine months and the screw "mounts" are all falling out making it impossible to raise and secure the backgrounds.
I will call the manufacturer before I apply locktite, but I don't have time to be out of operation!

Comments about Photoflex Pro-Duty Backdrop Support Kit:
We used this kit for the first time at a major press conference and it did a great job of holding our backdrop for it. It is very easy to use and the polls are extremely light weight. I was very pleased with how high the polls can be raised as well and also that the middle poll can extend beyond 12 feet. We have used many other support systems in the past where the backdrop was really to wide for the poll, but it fits perfect on this one. I would have like a little more solid carrying case for it, but the polls themselves work very well.
