We use the tripod with one of the JVC GY-HM700 series camcorders. The head floats very smoothly and can be adjusted when extra weight is add. Only concern is the plastic for the feet screws seems a little brittle. Ours have held up well with student use but two came with broken feet. None of our tripods have shown any wear or tear being used as teaching tool for new tripod users. Carring case is a little tight. Handles have to be removed or head set to completely loose.
