With minor alterations this strap works great. I used velcro to hold a clip to the bottom of the first section of one leg. Now, I'm able to use the clips on both ends of the shoulder stap. Works much better than the original design.

Pros: clip at both ends so you can clip the loose end when the tripod is in use.
Cons: The buckle strap at tripod legs end is hard to tighten and untighten quickly. I can't move the shoulder pad over the buckle that lengthens and shortens the strap so that the pad would actually sit on my shoulder. Currently, the pad is just advertisement on my chest.
