I really like this case. I was able to get a Canon 40D with a Canon EF 24-70mm lens attached in the case plus a Canon EF 100-400mm, a Canon EF 70-200mm, 2 Canon 580 EX II Flashes, a Canon 2X Tele Extender, a Rocket air blower, and a battery charger. I double padded the inside edges for the 2 long lenses and laid them end to end with double padding between the lenses. That used up all 6 small dividers. In the medium side I double padded the inside edge of the case and placed the camera in with lens facing the double padding. At the other end of the medium side I laid the 2 flashes side by side and installed a divider. That left a small area between the camera and the flashes. That's where I put the 2X extender and there is enough room for a 1.4X extender.
I installed 1519 lid organizer (do not over tighten the little screws, there is not much bite in those little screws).
Use the foam from the lid to seperate the lid stuff from the camera stuff and keep it all from moving around. As a carry-on it will be ok. If I have to check it, it's double padded.

While its large enough to carry some stuff. This case is too small to really carry a lot of gear. I got it for a Canon 500mm F4.0 lens. The idea was I'd beat this case up and save the $500 Canon hard case. Well the 500 fits in it and not much else, you can get a 70-200 F2.8IS in it as well as a flash and its full.

If you are NOT carrying it on the airlines, I'd say buy a bigger case.

I can Pelican improved on the latches and they are sort of a 2 step locking thing and they work very well and are much easier to close. Also the TAN color stands out and makes it easier to spot in a sea of BLACK cases.............

I can say its STRONG and well built. I do prefer the dividers to the foam (cube foam flakes off as you use it)

Comments about 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Olive Drab):

Though I have not used it yet, the case seems to be of great quality. I chose the dividers because of other complaints of foam deteriorating over time. I also have flexibility in changing equipment, with the added bonus of still packing a few clothing items when traveling. This also gives a little added interior shock protection to the equipment inside the the case.

Don't underestimate the capacity of this article. It's a just perfect peace for most of us. I personally use a 1510 model for my cameras and lenses yet the model 1510SC to collect my extra accessories.

In this picture you can see how I was able to fit:
3 cameras, 2 flashes, 5 lenses, microphones, 1 iPod, 1 laptop surface + cables, 7 chargers, tons of batteries, 2 grips, cables, filters, straps and much more...

      Go for.
      I love it

This is an ideal carry on for protecting fragile china ornaments that I often transport from location to location. It looks a little clunky, but is strong and does what I need it for. Expensive but you get what you pay for.

Comments about 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):

I purchasd this case because I travel a lot and wanted my growing collection of equipment to be safe and compact. Right now I have it configured to fit 3 lenses, 2 camera bodies, a polaroid camera, film for the polariod, a golliropod, plus sd cards, extra batteries, filters, and other odds and ends. It os great cause it is small enough to fit in my car or the over head compartment on a plane. This is my new favorite way to store and travel with all of my equipment!

Being in business for 5 years, it has been a blast....up until the transport of our precious equipment comes into play. Through the 5 years we've experienced many incredible bags from shoulder slings like the InCase DSLR Sling pack, to the LowePro 180aw, a smaller lowepro & even the awful Canon backpack. Lowepro has been for the last 2 years my SAVIOR until now. This 1510 is incredible, it fits so much and the best features are the durable wheels and finish of the unit. Being a travel photographer as well it helps to know that this would be able to fit in an overhead compartment without any hassle. HUGE PLUS! It is nice to know that so much design has been crammed into such a small package to help videographers and photographers across the world for such a small price.I would HIGHLY recommend this for any travel photographer, studio photographer & wedding photographer.Equipment fit into this unit:5d Mark III5d Mark IICanon 70-200mm F2.8 IS IICanon 85mm F1.8Canon 50mm F1.2Canon 16-26mm F2.82x Canon 600ex-rtBolt Cyclone Battery Pack1 Card case holder(dimensions 1x2x3)2x MagMod units w/ modifiers

Comments about 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):

This is my second 1510 (1514) case from Pelican. For my money, there is no better protection for your valuables.

Here are the pros. Solid construction, quality materials, dividers and foam (I have both versions) are great, lifetime warranty, water and dust tight. I shoot frequently at a reception location where the wedding party is taken from the ceremony area to the reception by boat. I have always been uneasy about this part of my job because of the water danger. It sure is nice to know I can stuff my camera into the Pelican if the boat decides to take us for a swim. Maybe i'm paranoid but it's a little less stressful knowing the gear (and their ceremony images) are protected.

The cons. Smaller than expected, wheels are awful on small pea sized stones. I wish the wheels were more like roller blade wheels. Loud latches don't bother me but beware. Organizer is an after thought for this company. On the bottom of the organizer, the screw holes are located inside of a pocket so it is very difficult to screw the organizer in without ripping the organizer's mesh like pockets. Handle feels flimsy but will probably never break. If it does Pelican will replace it.

Recommendations: Lid organizer if you are using this for camera gear with accessories.

I can fit 2 5DII''s and the following lenses in one 1510 and it's TIGHT. 24-105, 70-200 (horizontal), 100mm, 50mm. 3 CF card cases, and backup hard drive. Accessories like pocket wizards, batteries, cables, etc go in the organizer.

My summary is this is a great case as long as you are aware of it's limitations. Great carry on bag for any flight. Get two, if you are like me, you will need them.

Comments about 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):

What can I say, it's a Pelican Case and that should be the end of the review. I purchased this and later got the organizer as well which works with what I need. I'm able to fit three lenses: L 16-35mm, L 24-105mm kit lens, L 50mm, 600EX-RT, Canon 5d MKIII body, Vello Grip, Mini Tripod, a pair of Trigmaster Plus II's, and a bunch of small accessories as well as three 12 inch reflectors. It's well worth the investment, and my only complaint would be the design of the organizer which can be purchased separately that's not easily installed. That won't stop me from buying a second case and a second organizer though, I'll buy Pelican products until I can't but them any more.

I purchased this case to replace my Kata Backpack which I also got from B&H. I love both products, but I kept adding more gear and needed something to travel with. This hard case is awesome, portable and very durable. It makes it so convenient to have majority of your gear in one place. So far there have been zero downsides to the product.

Comments about 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):

I'm a wedding photographer that drives around the country and flies a lot to other countries to shoot weddings and I needed a bag to carry all my gear that I could take with me on the plane as a carry-on and I needed it to be safe enough to throw it in the trunk of the car and not worry about the gear (or the bag). I was considering Think Tank's International V2 due to its amazing reviews, construction quality and all the safety features like the steel cable and TSA approved locks on the zippers, but I had the opportunity to go to B&H and compare the Pelican 1514 and the TT's bag in person. And for what I needed, the Pelican was the better choice: water tight, dust proof and so robust. If I ever need to check it on a flight, I can rest assured that the gear will be all intact. Also, I bought a steel cable and a lock to secure the bag on location just as the Think Tank.
I opted for the padded dividers because I didn't want to deal with foam inserts - they may protect the gear even better, but to fit all the gear I needed, I'd eventually have to pluck all the foam out. I also added the Pelican 1519 lid organiser to fit the small things, like battery chargers, extra batteries, cables, flashes, memory card wallets, etc, etc.

Comments about 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):

I've used a lot of pelican cases in the past, and they are solid. This one was no different. I bought one to take my Mamiya RZ67, Canon AE1 and a canon t2i on a plane with me and everything was completely fine. If I wanted to check the bag, I'm confident it would be fine as well, but I'd definitely lock the latches just to be safe.

The interior dividers are definitely much easier to use and re-organize than standard foam. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it. I'm considering getting pelican cases for all my travel needs, not just camera equipment.

Comments about 1514 Carry On 1510 Case with Dividers (Black):

I bought this case because it's the largest FAA approved carry-on case available from Pelican. The dividers work great and when I need to "carry-on" my Nikkor 600mm, f4 lens I remove the dividers and it fits with room to spare. It's heavy, yes but I would never put my 400mm, f2.8 or 600mm, f4 lenses in checked luggage. This case works perfect for either lens or lots of smaller lenses plus the camera body when I use the included dividers. I also purchased the Pelican insert that fits in the top of this case - it's very handy at a very reasonable prize.

I bought this case to transport my camera equipment as carry on luggage to Alaska. I am happy with the size of the case and quality. I have my Canon 6d with 24-105mm lens, 105mm macro, 50mm prime, 70-300mm and 150-500mm as well as all my accessories in the case and fits great. I did buy the lid organizer to got with this and would highly recommend.

I took the 1514 case out on my first photoshoot, awesome. My fellow photog's were carrying equipment in backpacks, with stuff hanging from there necks.

I was better equipped and much more professional in appearance to both the client and the models.
