Comments about Blackmagic Design Sync Generator:
This unit works great and you can see all the different types of sync on a scope. The reason I give 3 stars is for two reasons 1. The lack of instruction that comes with this unit and the lack of adequate instruction online. 2.The dip switch pattern key painted on the back of the unit is actually the opposite to my thinking.
The dip switches must be set according to the pattern key to get the desired sync. (It only puts out one type of sync at a time over all the ports) The problem is that they have a white box and a dark box to indicate the correct position. I assumed the painted white box indicated the position of the "white" switch. It is not. The dark box indicates where the "white" switch should be placed.
It should also be noted that while this unit has 8 switches, not all of them are used. If the pattern shows no white box for a switch, it is not used and it can be placed up or down with no effect on the sync.
The software available online is not used with this unit and is not needed. It does have a USB port for updating sync types that may be developed in the future.
It does work great once you figure out the pattern key.

Comments about Blackmagic Design Sync Generator:
I use the Blackmagic Sinc Generator in our 2 Avid Editing Systems. It fixed all our sync problems as soon as it was turned on. It is a great unit.

Comments about Blackmagic Design Sync Generator:
I use it to genlock VTRs and I/O hardware with both Avid and FCS editing systems. Switchable between standard SD sync and Trilevel sync for HD. Has 6 outputs -- plenty for my purposes, and more than its competitors. Less expensive, too.
