Product Highlights
  • Includes Bracket, Off-Camera Cord & Cable Release

The Dot Line RPS Digital Flash Bracket Kit includes all the necessary components for using a shoe mount flash raised above the lens, off-camera. Included is the required off-camera shoe cord that maintains full TTL flash control (including i-TTL), even with the latest digital cameras, and an electronic cable release that allows triggering the shutter directly from the bracket.

Flash brackets are designed to increase the distance between the flash head and the lens in order to minimize the occurrence of redeye and to also reduce flash-shadows behind the subject. The rotating camera platform moves the flash centered over the lens both for horizontal and vertical compositions.

Compatible with the Nikon D70s and D80 cameras.

Electronic shutter release to trigger the camera directly from the bracket
Durable heavy-duty off-camera shoe cord
Can be used either right-handed or left handed as the photographer prefers
Adjustable flash extension from 6 to 18" above the camera lens
All metal construction with a rubber grip for comfort
1/4"-20 mounting thread for use on a tripod, and a standard accessory shoe (non-TTL) on the top of the extension post
Lens-to-Flash Distance 6-18" (15-46 cm) [adjustable]
Dimensions 10.5 x 13.75" (26.7 x 34.9 cm)
Weight 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg)

Comments about RPS Lighting RPS Digital Flash Bracket Kit for Nikon D70s & D80 SLR Cameras:

This product is great when you first get it, but after using it for about 2 shoots, it starts having problems. I bought my first one and it very quickly stopped working. The shutter release would not work properly. I called the manufacturer and they quickly sent me a brand new bracket. The second one worked great for the first 2 shoots that I used it in, and then quit on me in the middle of a wedding last weekend. It seems like the chord that connects the bracket to the camera itself is too short and thus puts too much tension on it and creates a short. I really was frustrated because the product did a great job with its ability to rotate my flash reducing unwanted shadows, but it goes bad so quickly that it's DEFINITELY NOT worth the money. I hope I can save someone else the frustration with this review.

Comments about RPS Lighting RPS Digital Flash Bracket Kit for Nikon D70s & D80 SLR Cameras:

I thought I'd try the unit to reduce the "redeye" in certain situations. It is heavy to use but it does the job.
It came with no instructions and although it's fairly simple there are a couple of parts that I don't know what their use is.
