International Orders*The Gitzo GH3780 Center Ballhead is a relatively lightweight magnesium ballhead that incorporates many innovative and state-of-the-art features. It is designed to match the range of high performance tripods available from Gitzo. Not only does it guarantee a high maximum support load, but it also offers many other improved features, such as: smoothness, minimized drift angle, low gravity center, greater tilt angles, compactness, ergonomics and safety.
Exceptionally smooth rotation, positive locking and rapid camera mounting are all features common to the Gitzo designed range of ballheads. The head operates flawlessly and smoothly. The bases however are a real problem especially with the lens ring for the Nikon 70-200 f2.8. The base of the ring is smooth. THe Gitzo foot does not grip the base very well. A couple of slight torques on the lens will cause the whole assembly to loosen. Part of the problem is the very slick base to the lens ring. A few small torques back and forth and the base center screw loosens up so that you have to remove the lens from the tripod and retighten. If you are used to the form fitting arca type bases by Kirk you may be in for a shock. There is some of the same problem with a base attached to the camera. That said the rest of the head is great.
Thanks
Lonnie

This is one of the best engineered pieces of equipment I have ever owned. I have a 1ds MarkII and an Arca Swiss 4x5. This holds anything steady. Its not heavy at all...this is the real thing. If this were the first ball head I had ever bought it would be my last. Unfortunately, I purchased many before this one which will all be sold on [...] as of today.
