This makes it compatible with almost any professional 12V power supply.

Comments about Vortex Media EXDC1 4-Pin XLR Male to Sony 12V DC Plug Adapter Power Cable - 6' Coiled:
Purchased 6 to do a studio configuration with my PMW-EX3's. Allowed me to use our existing DC supplies from previous broadcast cameras and reserve the stock Sony PSU's to just charge batteries. Would have liked to seen a Neutrik XLR, but no big issue with supplied.

Comments about Vortex Media EXDC1 4-Pin XLR Male to Sony 12V DC Plug Adapter Power Cable - 6' Coiled:
This cable allows me to use my current supply of anton bauer batteries. These power the ex-1 for a long period of time. I can also use another power supply to keep shooting, and use the sony as a charger for the little battery. Very high quality construction. Vortex media puts out high quality items.

Comments about Vortex Media EXDC1 4-Pin XLR Male to Sony 12V DC Plug Adapter Power Cable - 6' Coiled:
If you currently own either of Sony's EX series cameras then this item is almost a requirement. It allows you to bypass the use of the camera's exclusive batteries, and get hours of runtime using a rechargeable belt or battery pack equipped with a 4 pin XLR adapter

Comments about Vortex Media EXDC1 4-Pin XLR Male to Sony 12V DC Plug Adapter Power Cable - 6' Coiled:
The cable functions as described however I don't like the quality of the cable. The jacket is very rigid and the taught effect of this non-supple cable puts additional strain on the semi-pro power jack that is used on the EX-3. You better have the connector strain relieved at the camera if you get any where near stretching the coiled part of the power cable.
