The Steiner 10x26 Safari Pro Binocular is a compact pocket binocular for nature observation, travel, hiking, opera and concerts.
The Safari Pro offers an innovative ergonomic design that makes for an easy time of both using and carrying the binocular. The Safari Pro's multi-coated optics ensures fine optical performance and brilliantly-detailed images of objects. Glare's reduced to a negligible amount, thanks in part to the Steiner's UV-A and UV-B block technology to promote high contrast images. Its profiled "Wrap-around" eyecups block distracting side light and eliminate discomfort while observing.
Steiner doesn't put their fine name on just anything; this German-made unit is a cut above many midpriced binoculars you could tote on safari.

Comments about Steiner 10x26 Safari Pro Binocular:
These were bought for my boss who goes to the racetrack to see our horses work. She said the binoculars were perfect...easy to use, very clear even when zoomed in, and lightweight.

Comments about Steiner 10x26 Safari Pro Binocular:
I bought these to carry on hikes and take on vacations as a higher quality alternative to small monoculars. Since I bought them on the plane I could not try them first.
The magnification is high, optical quality in the center is quite good (good contrast, some abberation), but there is a lot of distortion and some loss of clarity towards the edge of the image.
My biggest issue is that I find it very difficult to adjust them to my eyes and keep both eyes within the image circle. A smaller issue is that I find the focus wheel uncomfortabel to operate due to the large space betweent the ribs. For me it doesn't work well with glasses.
If I had tested this before, I would not have bought them and rather looked for a better alternative, which for sure would mean other compromises (size or magnification and surely price)

Comments about Steiner 10x26 Safari Pro Binocular:
First of all, I value Steiner binoculars and their Safari Pro binocular is substantial, not weighty, and feels good in my hands. Easy adjustments lets light in for a clear focus and 'in your face' look at what's out there.
I pack them for hiking some of the most beautiful country in Southwest Colorado, where I might be lucky enough to see bobcats and lynx, and I used them last weekend to find some missing cairns to guide my way in the Canyonlands.

Comments about Steiner 10x26 Safari Pro Binocular:
These optics are exactly what they're supposed to be-compact with relatively high magnification. The ruggedness and ease of transport are perfect for anyone who needs a daytime binocular without having to tote around a significant amount of weight. Night performance is obviously going to be lacking in comparison to an optic which can gather more light (at the cost of weight and portability). To call them "shaky," as another reviewer did, is insane. They are 10x optics. They magnify any movement as much or as little as any other 10x optic. if you don't need this magnification level or can't employ it practically, it's not the device's fault!!Maybe the lower weight/inertia can make it harder for some people to hold steady, but then again, a set of big 10x50s gets tiring to hold at eye level, and thus shakier, much more quickly than keeping these tiny things up to your face.

Comments about Steiner 10x26 Safari Pro Binocular:
This product gives good magnification and optical clarity, but it is difficult to look through it for extended periods of time due to the "shaky" view. Tiring to the eyes. However it is compact and tough, and is good hiking and use for the quick view.
