The Simultalk 24G from Eartec is a wireless intercom system that enables two people to communicate freely in real-time, without having to push a button to talk, and without having to wait for the other person to stop talking before they respond. Single-sided Slimline headsets are included, which are often preferred by video camera operators (dual-sided headsets tend to get in the way when the video camera is mounted on the operator's shoulder).

More people can be added to the Simultalk 24G system with the purchase of additional belt-packs and Eartec headsets. When more than two systems are operating, it is no longer a full-duplex system because only the designated "master" belt-pack can communicate freely with the "remote" belt-packs. When more than two belt-packs are in use, the remotes cannot hear one another, they can only push to talk to the master. Of course, this is not an issue when only two belt-packs are in use.

Optional accessories are available that enable you to use the Simultalk 24G transceivers with wired communication systems from Telex, Clear-Com, and RTS. With the addition of the Eartec SLTi Interface, multiple 24G users can connect to these commonly used wired systems

The Simultalk 24G is a useful intercom system for production work, houses of worship, or any setting that requires discrete wireless communication. This system is certified for worldwide use, so you don't have to worry about interfering with government or military communications systems at home or abroad.

Comments about Eartec Simultalk 24G Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom with Slimline Headsets:

Lets start with the ordering. I ordered the set of Eartec's and they appeared on my front step two days later. Wow !

I am using this set of Eartecs on my boat to communicate with my wife while we are docking the boat. She is usually out of site from me on the bow or stern and communicates with me on how close to the pilings I get.

We clip the transcievers to our belt and use the headsets which stay in place nicely as we both need are hands for other tasks while docking. The sound quality is great and we have no problem hearing over the normal background noise of both diesel engines running.

I'm glad we purchased them and highly recommend them to others.

Comments about Eartec Simultalk 24G Full-Duplex Wireless Intercom with Slimline Headsets:

I received my intercoms on a Friday and used it on a live multicam video shoot the next day. First the cons:
I removed the battery cover to inspect the battery and it took me 30 minutes to place it back. The battery is packed so tight that there is no room around it to even line up the wires. Even after I had closed it, you could visibly see the bulge from the wires underneath.

Next up is the little rubber dinglings they had used to cover the mic and charging ports (one on each side). You really would need a very sharp pointed object or long fingernails to pry them open - not very condusive for run and gun. Once I opened them, I left them hanging.

And lastly, the charger doesn't have an auto cut-off feature. You literally have to time your charge time for four hours. If you happen to forget, and left it plugged in for longer periods, it may damage the equipment - so says the manual. Also it would have been nice to have a levels indicator to instantly know how much juice you have left. Now for the pros:

Short and sweet these intercoms work. I used them in a live gospel musical concert. My assistant was at the back of a huge hall that seated 1000 audiences. He had the main stage and I moved through the crowd. We both were miked up with the Simultalk and could communicate freely without any interference. The volume was also loud enough for us to hear each other above the uproar and cheers. But because the headphones that I chose were only for one ear, we used in-ear plugs for the other ear so as to block out most of the noise. The intercoms lasted the whole five hours we were there, on a full charge, even though we practised placing them on standby each time we finished communicating. Now, full duplex meant that we both could communicate back and forth any time, and as long as we want just by pressing a button on top of the gear, which is very easy to reach and well placed, if using it on your belt. And you dont have to press anything in listening mode.

My assistant and I both noticed that ocassionally there will be a clipping sound through the system. We didn't have time to troubleshoot it; but then it wasn't bothersome. We linked it to the numerous equipments the venue had, or perhaps changing to another of several channels on the gadget.

All in all, these intercoms worked as advertised. It made my project very easy as I became a videographer and a director all in one. I was able to tell my assistant when to go close up or wide. I mean we explored the various angles, thanks to these little device.I certainly will be buying four more for a much bigger project. My client was so impressed he gave me another contract right there and then to shoot their services once a month.

I shot using two Panny HMC80s, and synchronised them using Movieslate running on an Ipad.

I am taking one star off for the design flaws I mentioned earlier and even though I find them very pricey, I would definitely recommend them.

We use the Simultalk duplex wireless intercom and slimline head sets for communicating while docking and departing from dock on our pleasure cruiser. We used to shout and use hand signals and the frustration level went way too high for our 20 year marriage. It is a great way to keep calm and get regular progress report to the captain on the bridge for a pleasant landing and departing.

THIS RADIOS ARE OK BUT DEPENDS ON YOUR NEEDS.
THE RANGE IS HALF BLOCK DISTANCE,BATTERIES LAST 4 HOURS, THE AUDIO IS OK AND THE COMMUNICATION BUTTON IS EITHER ALWAYS ON OR OFF.
IF SOMEBODY IN OTHER DEPARTMENT OR OTHER CREW IS USING THIS SAME RADIO YOU WILL HAVE COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS BECAUSE THIS RADIO ONLY HAS ONE FREQUENCY.
THE HEADSET PLUG TO THE RADIO MOVES AND CRACKLE A LOT.THE BELT CLIP IS VERY FRAGILE.
THIS DUPLEX COMMUNICATION IS GREAT FOR QUIET PLACES BECAUSE RADIO IS ALWAYS ON IN HANDS FREE, IMAGINE THIS DUPLEX FUNCTION IN A NOISY AREA.THIS RADIO IS GREAT FOR HORSE TRAINING OR CHURCH

Really like this set. Doesn't get 5 stars because I would like them to be a little louder and if there was less hiss I would be happy.

Don't buy the "cyber headset" version. They are terrible.
