With the Chimers Quick Release Speed Ring Conversion, you can convert most of the older Chimera Speed Rings to a Quick Release Ring by fitting a new Quick Release Outer Ring onto your existing inner insert. Measure your inner insert diameter. Most older Speed Rings with eight bolts holding the insert are compatible with this conversion.

This is an extremely high quality speed ring. It's incredibly solid, as is almost everything else I have from Chimera. The quick release feature is so convenient, both for putting a softbox up and for taking one down. I use this "conversion" ring with an IDC slipper kit to mount softboxes with my hot shoe flashes on pocket wizards. It makes a bullet proof setup with no stress whatsoever on the flash or pocket wizard.
