Slow and dirty process. Knowing the limit of how many discs can be processed before over heating slowed the destruction of 200+ yet it went well. This unit paid for itself in one use. The flakes from the cutting meant a clean up mess which happens with all shredders. Great value.

This thing does exactly what is says it does. I just shredded 20 discs in one minute with no problems. Now I don't expect this thing to keep up that pace with out shutting down from being overheated. If you need to shred a lot of DVD/CDs purchase one that is meant for that, otherwise if you are occasionally needing to destroy data this will work fine.

The box states this shreds 20 DVD/CDs a minute. It does about 10, the motor overheats and then you have to unplug it (not just shut it off) for 15 minutes so it will work again. My advice, get some heavy duty scissors instead.

This thing is advertised to shred 20 CDs/DVDs per minute. The manual states a duty cycle of "300 discs on, 15 minutes off". Never once would it shred more than a dozen CDs before the "temperature protection" tripped. Save yourself a few dollars and invest in a good pair of scissors.
