  • 1" Soft Dome Tweeter
  • 68W Total Power
  • XLR, TRS and RCA Inputs
  • HF Level Control
  • Front-Firing Bass Port
  • Wood Construction

The RoKit 6 G2 from KRK is a two-way active nearfield monitor ideal for use in project or small professional studios. The monitor features a 6" glass aramid composite cone woofer that maximizes performance while minimizing distortion. The 1" neodymium soft dome tweeter provides a more natural sound than metal-domed tweeters, providing more natural mixes with less ear fatigue.

The bi-amplified design provides 68W of total power to the speaker elements. The wood cabinet features a front-firing bass port and a radically curved front baffle for minimal diffraction and a wide sweet spot. The recessed high frequency waveguide focuses the sound away from the cabinet and provides optimal pattern control.

The rear of the cabinet features XLR, TRS, and RCA inputs, allowing you to connect the monitor to virtually any sound system. An input gain control lets you precisely set the monitor to work with your other audio components, while an HF level control helps you match the speaker to your environment. The monitor is shielded for safe use near video monitors and computers.

Note! Not recommended for direct connection to computers, portable MP3 player devices or smart phones.

Proprietary Speaker Components
The 6" glass aramid composite cone woofer provides excellent performance with minimal distortion, while the 1" neodymium soft dome tweeter provides a natural tone for minimal ear fatigue.
Wooden Cabinet
The rigid wood construction provides excellent structural integrity, extended bass response, and increased damping characteristics.
Bi-Amplified Design
The true bi-amplified system provides a total output of 68W for a powerful performance. An active crossover system provides a smooth and accurate frequency response.
Radically Curved Front Baffle
The curved front baffle minimizes diffraction and phase distortion, giving you excellent sound with a wide sweet spot.
Recessed High Frequency Waveguide
The recessed waveguide focuses the sound of the tweeter away from the cabinet and provides excellent HF pattern control, keeping diffraction and phase problems to a minimum.
Front-Firing Bass Port
The front-firing bass port provides clean, accurate bass performance without the bass coupling and port turbulence found on many rear-firing ports.
Multiple Input Options
The rear panel features balanced XLR and TRS inputs, as well as an unbalanced RCA input, allowing you to connect the monitor to virtually any sound system.
Input Gain Control
The rear-panel input gain control provides a range from +6 to -30dB, allowing you to maximize compatibility with your other audio components.
High Frequency Level Control
The four-position HF level control lets you match the monitor to your specific working environment.

I am running these monitors through my mbox pro using Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton and Reason as DAW's. Overall they have been spectacular using them for sound design as well as mixing. For sound design they are great when i have to pin point particular sonic irregularities that are very minute. While mixing its a little challenging to avoid a swampy type of mix but with the right time, it can molded into a smooth and clear mix. I'm merely saying that it was swampy at first since i wasn't use to the construction of this particular monitor.. The mid's & highs are well described and the bass has a round warmth with minimal bleed. The whole spectrum is well represented with these monitors but i do wish they was a tad more bass when i mixed. I have to say though, they are fantastic for what i use them for and am going to hold on to these for a long time!

I use this in an amateur studio but with middle to high end equipment. I'm using an RME UFX as my interface and I have several other monitors to A/B against including Mackie, Yamaha, Alesis (cheap pair), and NHT Pro A10's. Since I don't consider myself a professional I will simply say that it can compete with other models in it's price range but to my ears falls right above the mackies but about even with the yamahas, maybe even slightly better. The NHT PRO A-10's (I think they got bought out by a company called vergence) are by far better than all of those other choices. Crystal clear well balanced. To be honest, until I compared it the NHT's, I thought the KRK's sounded fantastic. It wasn't until I A/B'ed the NHT's that I heard the clear lack of clarity in the higher frequency rance. The bass was good but again, the NHT's are just clearer. I think it is a good option but if you can find a pair of NHT pro's I don't think you would pay much more than what these are going for. I bought the NHT's a long time ago based on a recommendation of an old pro engineer and never really tried other monitors until just recently. I actually appreciate them a more now but I was looking for a powered monitor to eliminate the need for the monitor amp. Lately I feel as though the amp for the NHT is starting to act up a bit which is why I picked these KRK's up.
The Alesis are not even worth talking about as they sound like junk compared to the others. I got a good price on the KRK's so I will keep them because my NHT's are getting pretty old and I don't know how much longer the amp will hold up. The Mackies and Yamahas were borrowed just for comparison so I think I will return those to their rightful owners and keep the KRK's as backup for my NHT. Hope this helps.

      Comments about KRK RoKit 6 G2 68W 6" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:

I heard these at a friends house a few years ago and have always wanted a pair of my own.
I purchased these for my home recording studio and so far I'm not disappointed at all!
I'm a audio engineer and videographer so I tend to be a bit critical but, the clarity and imaging from these speakers is pretty incredible.
Just enough 'punch' on the low end and adjustable Hi Level, plus the combination of inputs make these speakers ideal for small to medium sized home or professional studios...especially for the price!

These speakers are great for their value. They have a fairly good amount of definition across the frequency spectrum. The only reason I would say they get 4 stars instead of 5 is that they have a little bit of boost in the mid rage.

Just received mine 1 week ago. Awesome sound quality for the $$.. Using these as computer speakers they have more then enough bass to fill my room, the mids and highs are also pretty darn good.Currently i am using the onboard sound from my computer to run them. Mini jack to rca to my krks. Some have stated that you get a buzzing or a low quality sound by not using the balanced inputs on the speakers. I have 0 buzz and the sound is great. I am going to get a headphone amp that also has a line out so i can control the speaker volume from a knob rather then my pc's volume control.Make sure to position these at head height, i have my speakers on my desk and they are about 5" below my ears, when i lower my head to the correct height i get a much fuller sound. All and all a great speaker / monitor for the cash.

Bottom line, I love these. A lot of people complain that these have a punchy bass and are in general overhyped, but I couldn't be happier. I was originally using large (5 3/4" sub) bookshelf speakers powered by a stereo receiver. These powered monitors were a huge upgrade in both convenience and sound quality. One word of advice, become familiar with what a ground loop is. I originally had the speakers plugged into the same surge protector as much computer which caused an unwanted buzz, especially whenever I moved my mouse. If you have this issue try changing your wiring around and that will hopefully fix it!

                            Comments about KRK RoKit 6 G2 68W 6" Two-Way Active Nearfield Monitor:

I was looking for a set of monitors to play back audio that I had recorded as well as for listening to music. I was blown away by what these speakers offer and I can honestly say that I have never bought a product that lives up to its hype like these KRK Rokit 6's. I had borrowed a pair of Rokit 5 G1's from a friend before I bought these. I was immensely impressed by the 5's and I can definitely say that the 6's are even better! The 6's bring out more of the bass guitar and deeper tones than the 5's, and I think the 6's can get louder overall than the 5's. The front bass port, multiple input options, plus the volume and HF control knobs make these monitors very versatile. The last thing that I want to point out is the build quality. These monitors are SOLID! They have enough weight to feel heavy duty, but they won't require any reinforced structures to keep them upright. Long story short, you can't go wrong with buying these monitors. They offer a versatile array of input options, the sound is superb, and the build quality is out of this world! Stop looking around and buy these KRK monitors!

I have two lines into these speakers - one from my Numark Mixtrack Pro 2, and one directly from my iMac. Only issue is some power noise that's tricky to resolve, likely due to old wiring in my house - can't really blame that on the speakers. They're big for a desktop, but the sound is fantastic. Very high build quality. Heavy.

I recently bought these and i really love them. I can actually get a good mix in my home studio now! I use these with a KRK10s sub which also is very good. I highly recommend these to anyone that focuses on electronic music

Very good reference monitors for the price. As stated, you don't hear much if anything below 50Hz but that is to be expected from a monitor of this size. Imaging is very good. They are not super loud but that is a good thing for me because I tend to crank up the volume too much (they are plenty loud for close field). I found I had to turn the top end down, so it was nice to have that option.

As with any monitor, you have to take your time learn its characteristics. Once you learn how your favorite records sound it is easy to transfer that to your own mixes.

I have a set of Yamaha NS10s and I think I these are less fatiguing to work on.

I heard a lot about the KRK6 so I figured I'd give them a chance . Especially at the sale price . Took them out of the box and set them up on my computer desk in my bedroom just to hear them . They seemed a bit low end heavy . So being a professional audio engineer I took them to my shop to run them through my SMAART program .
Boy was I surprised when I started testing . For the money these things are flat . I tested at 4 different distances and the overall results were the same . The low end was not as boosted as I thought . Turns out that was my room acting as a bass trap . There was however a small wide dip at 2K . I inserted a parametric EQ and adjusted that frequency till it was flat on my trace . It really didn't do much . I had one of the other engineers do a blind test while I turned the parametric EQ on and off. He couldn't hear the difference .
As a matter of fact he was going to buy a pair of Tannoy near fields for his project studio . Which cost more than 2 times the KRK's . He was so impressed he said he was getting these instead .
The stereo imaging on these is fantastic ! The hi's are nice and transparent with no harshness as are the mids . You do not need a sub with these . They have some nice bottom without being bloated . Just a tight low end .
The only reason i didn't give them 5 stars is because I've worked on Dynaudio and PROACs . If you need a nice inexpensive pair of speakers for your home studio I would buy the KRK6 . You won't be disappointed .
